What is wrong with you? Are you serious? I really hope your are just trolling.

SOF,
The Constitution of The United States of America put in place a way to change the government without a revolt. Its called get the majority to vote in who you want as leaders. If you really don't like the way America is headed then get out there and start making changes. Start a new political party, get involved in a major party and make changes in their platform, get a grass roots movement going for new amendments to The Constitution, etc...

Tell me another Nation that could, if it chose to, change into your CSA? All you need to do is convince the majority of the people to vote with you and THERE YOU GO. A New America the way you like it.
A Bloody revolt by a few people against the wishes of the majority is rebellion and that is treason. And Yes what the Americans did during the revolution was treason! If we had lost that war every single person who signed the Delectation of Independence and MANY others would have hung for treason. But our forefathers thought enough to put into our system of government a way to change the way America is ran, its called the VOTE.
Is it possible to elect a Very Conservative Calvinistic Christian based leadership to this country? Sure it is. It may not be easy but it can be done. It would involve getting all like minded people to get very involved in politics and having to walk what they talk, but it can be done.

So Shield forget the Bloody Revolt crap. If you really want your New America use the right that thousands of Americans have died to protect and VOTE.

Shadow, are you a student of history???

SOLA GRATIA.

I voted for somewhere in the middle. A wise man wants said something about the government should fear the people, not the other way around. And some other wise man said that if the US government ever got to big for its britches that every patriot had the responsibility to revolt...or something to that effect.

And I say those things as a disabled vet who swore an oath to defend the Constitution and I take that oath very seriously.

Mont974X4, if it is not to painful or personal; would you share how you became disabled?

I only ask because I am a fellow vet. I did not see combat (almost called to go into Grenada) but had my share of close calls. I think it would be good for the civilians to hear some true stories of veterans and their sacrifice for this country.

Only if you are up to it. No pressure bro.

SOLA GRATIA.

"This country" being the one you currently want to violently overthrow?

Strange question though.

What's the protocol if the country is split right down the middle between wanting bigger government than now and smaller government?

I think the sign that a government is getting too big for it's britches is when it begin's to abandon it's poor and needy in favor of the rich and powerful and their needs instead.

Revolts do not happen in a vacuum.

I also claim vet status and love of Country.

It's not the quantity of government that bothers me, but rather the quality. Paying the level of taxes I do now wouldn't bother me if, rather than my taxes being wasted on Iraq and pork-barrel projects, they were spent on providing social services efficiently, building infrastructure, doing R&D into alternative energy and medicine and physics, and so forth. Investments that had a tangible benefit to my community.

I don't want smaller government. I don't think expanding the government is the answer either. What I want is intelligent, efficient, pragmatic government.

The government has no reason to do things like that.

They still get your money regardless, unless you move somewhere else.

To me the OP has the ring of.

"Look, I'm trying to be nice here. Just hand me your wallet or I'll kill you. I'll kill you. Why do you want me to Kill You! ARE YOU CRAZY, I SAID I WAS GOING TO KILL YOU! GIVE ME YOUR WALLET! EVERYBODY DO WHAT I SAY OR I'LL KILL YOU!"

Wrong. The OP has a ring of the true understanding of HISTORY!!!

Read this thing called the Holy Bible. You will see that once a nation gets fully corrupted with sin, it takes drastic measures to turn it around.

Or you can just leave and create...

I'm just going to weigh in one time on this nonsense, and I apologize for bumping this towering pile of poo.

I always assumed that SoF was 17, his ridiculous opinions tolerated because we encourage young people to get involved in political debate. Now I learn he is old enough to serve in Grenada. Ooooookay. So we have a guy (typing in HUGE letters) who spends a good part of his day advocating violence, the overthrow of the United States government, and the extermination of all groups who offend his idea of Biblical purity. This troubles me. It bothers me a lot. It seems like a cry for help from someone who is on the verge of going postal.

If a mass murder were committed and SoF were arrested, these threads would mark a long long trail of warning, a cry for help. Yet we all (most of us) debate him as if he had a valid opinion, as if his judgement were sound, as if he was not an insane screwball. It would be better if we allowed SoF's "contributions" to float gently to the bottom of the forum like offal drifting to the floor of the ocean. Either ignore him or report him, but don't enourage him to further demonstrations of his obvious mental instability.

uhmm no...not really. :sorry:

...which would be a good point if America was a Christian, but since nations can't have a religion that's not possible. :)

Or you can just leave and create...

Ahhh! so you're not seceding, you're emigrating? Where do plan on setting up your country?

I would say its too big for its britches when it starts becoming a nanny state and involves itself in areas it has no business....like infringing upon states rights, individual rights, and stealing from its people while stomping all over our founding principles.

You'd have an argument if:
1. judges weren't overturning the will of the people
2. gay marriage wasn't an attempt to legitimize sin

Personally, I don't think it really matters because no matter what the government says, God still says it's a sin along with adultery, being a drunkard, and many others.

I doubt it'd be an issue if we weren't (as a society) so hooked on a false sense of entitlement and it would go away if we had a flat tax with no loopholes and if there was enough of a market to justify a company providing new insurance and financial planning options geared towards gay couples.....basically it's all about two things:
1. legitmizing sin
2. money
