• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

*shrug*. Any transitional fossil will plug a gap, and create two more. "Missing links" are something of a red herring, especially in the days of protein comparson and DNA analysis.

Having the wealth of hominid fossils we do is evidence for any but the most opposed, but chromosomal analysis is convincing for all but the terminally biased. And nothing short of God coming down with flowcharts and diagrams would convince them, anyways.l

I see. Well, that's nice to know. Perhaps you should be telling the biologists. They'd appreciate it. Since virtually every biologist who is not a fundamentalist Christian works with and uses evolution daily, they'd probably thank you for pointing out their error.

I'd suggest you check out Talk.Origins first, because it details a small fraction of the data biologists take as evidence of evolution, and they'd need to know why it was wrong.

I really don't mean to be hurling this out as an insult, but come on..there's some truth to this statement.

For the sake of political correctness, let's keep sentiments like that to ourselves. ;)

It's just you. There are doubtless some poorly educated people on both sides. I would bet that each side has at least one genuinely dishonest con artist, at least one brilliant thinker who is well-educated and honestly convinced, and a fair number of regular Joes who haven't thought about it much. :)

I am wondering where I fit in your discription. I am not poorly educated, but not a science major either. I have studied this out and am still in the process of learning, about the facts of this debate. But, strongly believe the evolution on the molecules to man level is incorrectly interpreting the evidence that is out there.

Well you have a lot more to learn, since there is no "molecules to man level" in evolutionary biology.
