  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A friend of mine is going with her 5 yr old in a month or so. She's not sure what to do about walking - obviously he'll walk most of the time, but he might get tired a bit earlier than they are ready to leave.

Would you recomend them taking a wagon; leaving early when/if he gets tired? The dad can carry him some; but that would tire dad out a bit too.

Just wondering what other parents would do.

They only have the 5yr old (no other children yet  )

I've only been to Sea World San Antonio, which is the biggest one, but it is HUGE (spread out). If they go on walks regularly, and he's a trooper, it should be fine. You do sit for the shows. But SW does allow wagons and things, and if they want to bring swim gear, or do shopping, it would be a good idea to have one.

(We went last summer with a 5 year old, and her 4 siblings. They all had a blast.)

They are going to the one in SA. They went a few years ago - but he doesn't remember.

When our son was 5, we did a SoCal trip - Disney, Knot's, San Diego Zoo, Sea World and places inbetween. He tired us out, refusing to go back to the hotel during the afternoons for a much needed respite.

He's now 8 and always asks for a ride to school. A whole 350 yards away. :D
