If atempts to change the day of the test have failed and there is no other alternative, what would be wrong with taking the necessary test on the Sabbath to allow the helping of the sick? Taking the test would be just another part of the process of healthcare.

At least in the U.S., this is a matter that could go to the Supreme Court, because it infringes on religious liberty. Again, the question comes up, "Why Saturday, but not Sunday also?"

When I took Drivers e.d. back in the day the ONLY day they gave the test was on Saturday ( small town ).....
...How much consideration would a court give someone who complained about testing on Saturday.
...When the court would know the same individual would be driving on Saturday.

I believe the topic in this thread essentially has to do with equal opportunity. In other words, it is a matter of ethics. In my opinion, I see it as unethical that policy makers would not bring a person's religious convictions into account with this type of testing. That does not constitute "equal opportunity," but shows favoritism towards the majority that does not share such convictions. If schools are going to make it a requirement to take a test, then they should at least make an effort to make it accessible to all without infringing their religious convictions.

An exam to show your knowledge of driving and the driving are not the same thing. Again--I find it hard to believe that the difference is not seen--it seems like the argument is the important thing for some people. I would not take a driving test on Sabbath, though I will drive to church on Sabbath. In order to become a priest, are there no exams?? Do they just become priests without having to show what they know? Catholic schools have exams, why are they not given on Sundays? Are exams for the seminary given on Sundays? If not, why not? It's needed to be able to be a priest so you should be able to take the exams on Sundays.

You are demonstrating on paper or in front of a certifying authority...
...That you "will do" the right thing when it's for real ( on the road or helping someone ).
...You mock execute the same action "as if" you were really doing it.

I think you are missing my point here & that's only you can't expect the religious beliefs of a minority....
...To cause a mutation in the religious beliefs of the majority.
...It would be no different than your going to McDonalds a few times.
...Then claiming they were persecuting you by their serving of pork products.

Yeah, they are still heretics officially. So...
So imposing on heretics with a little burning at the stake is nothing, compared to a Adventist imposing by having a test day changed....I dont know Python, seems the former is much more imposition than the latter.....:o

Yes, I guess someone has to decide where the line is drawn.

SDA healthcare workers take pay for their works of mercy on the Sabbath, do they?

Never been too particular about that line of logic, even from among Adventists. I heard a Pastor say once that in his opinion, while working as a Doctor on the sabbath was not an issue, that doctors should probably elect to not get paid for their work on the sabbath. I don't think that makes anymore sense than saying that a Pastor shouldn't get paid for the work He does on the sabbath.

Most medical jobs are salary based anyhow, not hourly.

You're 0/2 with your analogies here Pythons. The test DOESN'T need to be administered on a Saturday. It has nothing to do with mutating a religious belief of the majority. It's about respecting the religious beliefs of those who are paying the same fee as others for their education. The Board could convene just as easily on a Sunday morning as they can on a Saturday.

You do however clearly show the mentality that will be manifested among those lost at the end of time. At that time, the minority will not be tolerated for the sake of the majority.

As is often stated in this forum, Jesus is our example. He healed people on the Sabbath, and never took a shekel in payment. Just an observation.

Jesus didn't take payment any day of the week for anything He did. Nor did He own any property for that matter.
