Scrupulousity & false condemnation!

I suffer from a very strong case of scrupulousity and false condemnation and a legalistic way of confession(paying attention to the words rather The Spirit of the confession). It seems that the more I care about not doing the sin, the more I become over-sensetive about it, and that creates the scrupulousity and false condemnation in my mind. I am aware of a lot of things in order to resolve this, but a lot of times it is very hard to distinguish between what is sin and what is not. Any body else can relate.?Thanks.

Yes. I would say try not to focus so much on your sin. Just be humble before God when you confess, and then forget it. I have a problem too where I totally beat myself up for things I have done in the past and things I think, etc. Along with that I have intrusive violent thoughts and stuff and that makes it really hard for me and actually drove me away from God for years (false condemnation, fear, etc.), since it just makes me think I am absolutely nuts on top of being damned.

It's all part of your illness and God knows you have it, so He doesn't hold it against you.

Remember that Jesus Christ died for all your sins, even the ones you haven't committed yet, and He loves you.

The apostle Paul said that when he sins it is not him that sins but his body. You are not a body that has a spirit. You are a spirit that has a body. Your spirit has been born again holy and pure and blameless to God. If your body continues to be plagued with sin that is nothing that is not common to all, and Paul said that too.

Your body is ruled by the laws of this world like gravity, and consequence for actions, and sin. When you are born again you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, ask God to forgive the failure, and go on like before knowing all is forgiven and well.

It is that simple and because of men trying to make it more difficult, it is. But in truth it is not difficult to understand at all. If you read 10 different doctrines and denomination you will get 10 differing answers. Phooey.

Just go with what God says and take that as the last word and you will be fine.
