Hello everyone,
I have some OCD/Scrupulous tendencies, and I've spent quite a bit of time bothered by it and also quite a bit of time working on thoughts to combat it. Just thought for those of you that struggle as I do, I'd share some of my thoughts:
Always remember that God can work through us in spite of our weaknesses, and even sometimes BECAUSE of our weaknesses. As stated in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you; my power is strongest when you are weak." So God can actually work good through our weaknesses in ways that we may not yet know, and may never know in this life. Remember Romans 8:28! By the way, Romans 8:26 is good for those of us who struggle with how to pray.
God loves each one of us, regardless of how much we are struggling or how messed up we think we are. He understands each of us better than we understand us! He made us, so He understands us, our strengths, our weaknesses, and our uniqueness. He made us for a purpose.
God is perfect- we are not- and God knows that. And God loves us. So keep battling! Romans 8:18, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us." Hang in there!
Just wanted to post a note of encouragement to those of you like me. I'm certainly not cured of it, but I think I'm learning about God and about myself through it, so that may be one good that comes from my struggle.
All the best!
