From a different forum said faith not abou being certain because nothing is certain but it is betting the farm on Jesus. This implies they have gotten on the far side of doubt because the have to believe he is the safest bet. He said that is how u are saved. I am in doubt, doubt is u don't know. How can I then bet the farm and be saved.

On another note I got a fortune cookie. It said," sever the ignorant doubt in your heart with the sword of self knowledge."

I agree with the pastor. You can be saved because salvation is a work of God, not of man. You're not saved by the amount of faitht that you have, but by whom you place your trust in. When Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whomever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16), He meant that you need to trust in him. In fact, the original language of the word "believe" in this verse means to trust in something. Will that something that you trust in be the person of Jesus, or the feelings of doubt that you have?

Me too but I still dont understand how it is possible. If u feel doubt how can u feel trust. So I am not saved

To make an action happen there has to be a precursor feeling right? So in order to act as if I trust I have to feel trust. How can I just make myself trust.

From your messages to me, it my understanding that you are in doubt that God exists, that He created everything and therefore have trouble believing.
Well, I am happy to announce that God is real! He does exist!
From a scientific perspective, God is the only solution that makes sense for creation. Any scientist will tell you that you cannot create something from nothing. You need elements to combine.
Forget the universe, where did it all start? It had to start with a Creator. Our Creator.
The Bible tells us how He did it and why He did it. The Bible provides the only explanation that makes sense. Not surprising for the Book of Truth.
Please try not to get caught up in the scientific perspective that everything must make sense to you or it is to be dismissed. Remember, scientists can’t prove there is a thing called love either. Just ask a scientist where is located in you and you’ll only get a blank stare.
It is not possible for creation to fully understand the Creator. If you drew a picture would you expect the picture to understand how you worked? Of course not.
God created you and understands your doubts. You won’t go to hell for asking questions. Hell is for those who reject Him.
He sees your struggles with this issue and is there for you to help better understand. Lean on Him. Love Him. Focus on getting to know Him better.
OCD loves to attack what’s most important to you. Obviously, it hit a cord with you. Your worries, doubts and fears are probably OCD related.
Try not to get caught up in your emotions. Learning techniques to identify these thoughts as OCD and not of your own and how to refocus would be very helpful.
While you struggle with your understanding of the existence of God, please remember while you may have doubts, there is absolutely no evidence proving there is no God.
Please also remember, you are not your OCD. He knows that.
Trust His Word. Trust in Him.

Is it possible I am agnostic with an ocd fear of hell. No amount of apologetics help. I have split sides one who seems to push God away, read athiestic articles to see if they make more sense and wants to doubt God exists because they feel it is more realistic and smarter and another one that freaks out about going to hell and thinks its possible God is there and prays goes to church etc. But I doubt so much it feels like I am agnostic.

First question Raven, just from reading your bible about Jesus, do you believe in his love? Forget about God existing or not, im asking you if you think there is a greater love in this universe than an allmighty God that loved you so much that he came to die for you. Think about the concept of love and then tell me if there is any greater love that any being can have for us then Jesus Christ?

As far as atheistic articles making any sense, you gotta ask yourself this: Are atheists honest about their true intentions? Do they really disbelieve because the evidence isnt good enough or because they hate God and hate anyone telling them how to live.

I have given you some good examples of how atheists hide their true intentions and one example is the shroud of turin. Almost all peer reviewed scientific literature point to the shroud being authentic, the supposed science loving atheist keep denying it and brings up conspiracy theories that are not rooted in science but wishfull thinking.

Why is the shroud of turin a forgery? The atheist will say its a forgery because he said it is. Is this intellectual? is it reasonable?

Is it reasonable to believe that the complex information of DNA arose by chance? Throughout History there has never been a language observed to have arisen through anything else but a mind.

Sis please tell me what objections you specifically have and lets go through them here

Sis ok you have some doubt, if this doubt isnt caused by the ocd, then you have to eleviate this doubt.

Everything I hear apologetic wise I think what if it was evolution, how did God create something from nothing, what if a black hole somehow created earth, what if it is all some kind of math equation etc.

Why will I go to hell?
