• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

2 Timothy 2:22 says to “Run from anything that stimulates youthful lust. Follow anything that makes you want to do right. Pursue faith and love and peace and enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.”

Sometimes fighting the temptation works, but running from it is good too. We don't always need to be strong as such - if you're tempted, get up and walk away from anything that could possibly harm you. As the verse says, find things that want to make you do right and run from all else.

We also have some wonderful threads on here full of scripture :). Two of these are You are God's little butterfuly (as Berry mentioned in your other post) and the sticky God's word and blessings for us daily. Both have wonderful scripture in them and if you find more, feel free to add them!

how can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don't let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. Psalm 19:12-13

this might apply. i know sometimes cutting is a result of guilt

So 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that there is a way out.
Has anyone found any scripture that tels us HOW to resist the temptation?
Thanks
<><:help:
Try Ephesians 6:10-18, "having done all to stand" or in 1 Peter 5:9, "resist him, [Satan] standing firm in the faith". Sometimes just to stand firm as a Christian amidst trials is all we can do but it is victory indeed.
