• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Word of God is full of encouragement and understanding. As you read and are moved by what God says, you can share it here. If his words blessed you there is an excellent chance it will bless the rest who read these posts. Plus we can discuss and fellowship as well.

:amen: :)

Psalm 107 v 23-29 Bipolar People know the works of the Lord.

They that go out on the ocean in ships know the works of the Lord, and his wonderful deeds in the deep. For he spoke and stirred up a storm and caused mighty waves to be lifted up. Those that rode on these mountains of water were lifted high into the heavens, and then after each wave plummeted to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. They reeled and staggered like drunken men; they were at their wits end. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm.

hmmm....sound familiar to anyone else as well?

Wonderful verse!!! He has brought me out of peril so many times. I am so grateful and thankful. At times I did not know it was Him taking care of me....but now I can see that He is always there taking care of me, protecting me, guiding me, loving me and I just need not to fight him.

When I read the title I thought to myself of when Jesus was asleep in the boat and the disciples were afraid because of the tempest, and yet Jesus calmed the winds and waves with His words.

Yes, that is one that speaks to me!

Yes, lol, something about boats, water, and Jesus just seem to speak to me. When I was a youth I used to shoot the whitewater rapids.....well, another story for another day. :)

Ps 51:7 wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

That could well be my biggest prayer after the ravages of this illness.

That is also a prayer of mine. Through this all I have clung to that verse where he says 'I have cast your trangressions as far as the east is from the west.' The 'I have' sounds an awful lot like past tense to me. Through his blood we are free. Although the trixie one will try to say otherwise.

Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.

(BTW BPD is Borderline Personality Disorder)

I like that verse, thanks for sharing, 'he knows those who take refuge in him.' That does bring a sweet release of tears to my eyes. Thanks agian.

What would the initials of Bipolar Disorder be? BD?

Sorry to get off track. BD is in fact the correct acronym but most lay people use BP. When you read an article by a doctor or read the research it will always be BD. Since Bipolar is one word the P shouldn't really be there and Bipolar Disorder is the full name.

Anyway I also really like this one:

Psalm 62:5-8
For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is in God.
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.

Ive done that at one point. Try to fight Him off for some reason but then i realized His true natureloving me, caring right beside me. Thats when I began to really humble myself and let Him in. To take part and hold of my life.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

I love this verse. It is not always easy to rejoice when our moods are swinging this way and that. But to be able to take a second and focus on rejoicing I find really helps :)
