This is a direct quest to find a answer to, where does God permit any human to take the life of another through the word of God. In which is a direct question referring to soldiers and how soldiers call themselves Christian's, even though they are trained killers.
Almost everywhere you go in America there is a great amount of Patriotism mixed in with Religious beliefs that soldiers are not only Patriotic to a Government/Nation, but also refer to themselves as Christians. From my understandings of the Bible, and numerous years of completely understanding or trying to understand word for word all the texts in the Bible, I have never seen or atleast can't remember a scripture where God writes that he permits "good deeds" to be done by a proxy human. My view of a soldier, might be completely different from others, and this is what I expect, different view prints of a soldier compared to other Christians. I view a soldier as a great patriot risking his life for many reasons, but primarily it is for the patriotism he/she has for his/her country (this is a generalized belief). But I also do see the soldiers as half time partiots and half time mercenaries. In which is the case since patriots in this country are paid for their duties. So im trying to get atleast some Biblical references to where a Christian can rightfully support someone who kills people for a living or atleast is trained to kill people for a living.
Also:
I have the issue with, a President saying "God Bless America and God Bless our soldiers". In which I again try to wake up and notice, where exactly does God tell us to follow a Government? "Get involved in the world, for the world will revolve around you, and you no longer are the one that represents the word of God", Politics is the way of the World, and for any person to claim to be a Christian and be a Politician I see a great discomfort when God clearly states (through the hand of man but the words of God), that we should not get involved in the world.
So questions:
Where does the Bible support the belief that a Christian can be a Politician and still refer to themselves as a Christian?
How can a Christian support one that is a machine driven to kill someone through duty, that also refers to themselves as a Christian and still has support from the Christian community?
Looking for insights and possibly to get a clear answer, since I do not see exactly how Religion and Government should mix at all.
Thanks,
