Screwing Up Salvation

My religious obsessions are flaring up again.

I feel like I have said the wrong thing and/or have held the wrong attitude about something and have invalidated my salvation.

Does anyone else get that way?

This is something I just can't drop easily.

Hey,

I'm sorry to hear that they're flaring up again because I know it's something you dont want and you just want peace. I don't know if what you said/thought was intentional due to being frustrated or if what you said/thought was unwanted but regardless, the importance is that you don't like it and the Lord knows that. Sometimes I used to be so afraid that the thoughts would take away the blessings the Lord had for me : He'd bless me and I'd thank Him and bam the intrusive thoughts and it just stole my joy because all I wanted to do was thank Him and I would get scared He'd take them away but the thoughts didnt keep Him from bestowing His many blessings on me and I truly believe that they can't affect our salvation. I used to share your fear as well and sometimes the thoughts can get so rude and aggresive that the fear would try to resurface but remember that He knows our situation more than we do and know why we are the way we are. He knows we hate this stuff and that it sucks and like I always say if we could press a button to rid these things we would do it in a heartbeaat. It helps to take your eyes off of yourself and look toward Him and His nature and ask yourself would He punish us for things we want delieverance from so badly . And also once I saw that the blessings still came through the storm it was like Him showing me that He has gifts for us sick too. I'm praying for you and I truly hope that you find your peace in Him and hope I helped and was on the right track as far as what you were describing.

startrekfan1 I am sorry that your still having a hard time with this struggle but I will tell you again like I told you before, take your eyes off of yourself and look to Christ.

Your salvation does not depend on anything that you can do for yourself in order to be saved for if that was the case then Christ died in vain.

Do you believe that Christ died for you or not?

as jayangel81 posted in a previous post. Youre salvation isnt based on whats in youre head. Its based on what Jesus did for you on the cross.

Remember, too, that YOU can't "invalidate" something that God gave you irrevocably.
