  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am working on 2 scrapbooks right now... 1 for my mom and 1 for my mother in-law. They both had said they wanted copy's of our wedding pictures so I am making them both scrapbooks :) I think they will enjoy it.
I have found the best deals at GardenRidge where I get a huge pack (180 ct) of 12 x 12 paper for $9.99!! I don't get a bunch of stickers or clipart cause I usually draw things myself and glue it on ;) I look for the best deal LOL.
Anyone else have money saving tips??

God Bless

I love to scrapbook too. I'm originally a quilter but the scrapbooking is very appealing too because the projects take less time and space, plus I get to look at pictures of my 3 little angels. I've been collecting scrapbooking stuff for almost 5 years but I only have about 20 pages done. There is always something else that has to be done before I can scrapbook (dishes, laundry, cook dinner)

I mostly use Close To My Heart stuff, I have 2 friends that sell it and I got hooked on it when I was overseas.

I LOVE to scrapbook!!! I use the 40 percent off coupons from Michael's and the Hobby Lobby I go to has a lot of stuff on clearance all the time. I also like Garden Ridge but it's kind of far from me so I only go if I see something in the weekly ad. I bought a 180 sheet pack of decorative paper called the SLAB at Michael's for $9.99 on sale (it's normally $19.99!!!). I don't use a lot of stickers either because I can just draw or scrapbooking chalk is really awesome to decorate your page.

I just got back from a scrapbooking weekend. In 3 days I only got 6 pages done. I'm such a perfectionist I need to chill. Does anyone have any ideas on how to let go and just get it done, and it still be fun???

I did have lots of fun eventhough I'm slow.

Ah, scrapbooking. I absolutely love it. Since we are a homeschooling family, I have to discipline myself not to lock myself away with my photos, paper, and stickers during school hours. School's out, now, though, and I have been allowing myself to work an hour or so every morning while my teenagers and I listen to Bott Radio. Hobby Lobby has all their supplies half price this week, and I've had to go restock.

I wish I could give pointers about relaxation, but I can't. The process comes pretty easily to me. Once I get started, I can usually get a two-page layout done in two hours. Now that includes planning, cropping, and peeling the backing off all of the mounting tape. That's the hardest part!

I totally agree about the mounting tape. I tried use photosafe glue, but that can really mess up pictures if you're not careful so now I use the glue on everything except the pictures (dye cuts, borders, memorabilia, frames...etc.)

You know I think my problem is that I think too much. Yeah, I'll have to stop that.

I love to scrapbook too. I'm getting ready to do some pages of my daughter's high school graduation. I then need to buckle down and do the scrapbook of her 4 years in marching band. Wow, I've got soooo much to do I need to catch up!
