Other than the fact that he was fishing in a pier nearby where the bodies were found........what evidence do they have against him? I'm trying to have an open mind about this......to kill his wife and unborn child is an horrendous act. If he is found guilty.......are they planning on the death penalty?

He has been charged with a capital offense, so yes he is eligible for the death penalty. Like sklippstein, I also am wondering about evidence. They do seem to have a fairly strong circumstantial case against him, but when it comes to the death penalty, I would like to see a little more.

Um folks, they haven't even gotten to the trial yet. He hasn't been formally charged yet the last I heard, but the prosecutor is going for double murder. Not homocide, murder. There may be evidence that it was premeditated. If that's the case, it's a different ballgame from homocide.
I seriously doubt they would arrest him without enough evidence to make it to trial. They aren't obligated to submit the evidence to the public. We'll find out what they have during the trial.
If he really did this, dismembered his wifes body when she was 8 months pregnant, he deserves to die.

Innocent until proven guilty
I so badly want to think he is innocent, because I can not imagine anyone doing anything like that to their spouse!
I suppose I am searching for the good in people... I Pray he didn't do it

I was just checking the news channels and the police and prosecutors are saying that when he was arrested he was found with $10,000 and he was only 30 miles from the Mexican border amd heading south. They said that they were afriad that he was going to try and run since Mexican law prohibits people being extridited to the United States if they face the death penalty, which he is facing if convited of both counts.

any parents will want to believe their child is innocent....no matter how the situation looks to the police. dunno if they're in denial, but it is kind of hard to take it in that your child (no matter HOW old) is capable of taking someone's life. it's up to the police/investigators/judicial system to determine if he's guilty or not.
