The Whitewater investigation wasted millions of taxpayer dollars to find absolutely nothing. What's your point

What was the point of this investigation? We wanted to see if anyone within the administration leaked any names to Novak. We found out it was an administation outsider who leaked the name, and he was not found guility of any crime since he did not know at the time she was a covert agent. We have someone convicted on perjury when there was no underlying crime..so basically we spent millions of dollars to get someone on a technicality.

You described what just happened to Clinton. Glad we can all get along.

Good, Libby should never have been convicted in the first place. That just shows what happened when you have a prosecutor trying to sharpen a political axe, and activist judges and juries trying to bend the law in their favor.

The prosecutor was a Republican. And I don't see how there was an activist judges or juries? The only person trying to bend the law in their favor is Libby and his supporters. He broke the law, he had a trial by a jury of his peers, he was convicted. The system worked as it should.

The Whitewater investigation resulted in 15 convictions. You may consider that to be absolutely nothing, but those who went to prison as a result of the investigation may disagree

I think he will pardon him, and should.

He knows what's good for him, and won't offer up the pardon.

Burdick v. United States (1915) set some clear guidelines about offering and accepting Presidential pardons. Bush offering the pardon would be an acknoledgement by the administration that Libby was guilty of the crime. Libby has to choose to accept the pardon, which is legally an admission that he did commit the crime.

So a pardon would mean that both Bush and Libby are both admitting that Libby did lie under oath and obstruct justice to protect the White House. How much fodder would that offer future investigations?

My point was that for many it was considered a waste since all it did was vindicate the Clintons from any wrong doing.

For many that may be the case , but the reality is somewhat different. It's like saying that the Reagan was vindicated from any wrong doing by the Iran Contra investigation.

The Clintons were guilty of choosing bad business partners. So what.....

And using that same logic, Bush has been vindicated as well since the investigation turned up even less than the Whitewater investigation.
