Coming back onto the abiogenesis/autocatalysis topic briefly, I found this very interesting Youtube which features another of these Santa Fe Institute scientists talking with DeGrasse Tyson:
Neil & Sara Imari Walker Discuss New Theories on The Origins of Life in the Universe
(Unfortunately, its about an hour long (mainly because of DeGrasse's self-publicizing grandstanding which slows her down too much, IMO) .. however, its well worth a look.
Her name is
Sara Imari Walker. She has an impressive resume leading up to Asotrobiology from a Physicists' perspective. She's also just published a book last year called:
Life As No One Knows It: The Physics of Life's Emergence
It covers most of the ground in the information/combinatorial research going on in the Abiognesis (OOL) space and goes beyond that also. I think I'm tempted to view their Assembly theory (an hypothesis) as pretty much the theoretical bleeding edge behind scientific OOL research.
Oh and just a quick heads-up for
@Bradskii: she has a definte leaning away from hard Deterministic Universe .. for many sound reasons.

{ETA: Ha! I mistinterpreted what she said at the beginning of the second Youtube (link below). She goes into it at 2:40:40 onwards, ie: right at the end in the section on Free Will}.
She also delves into the idea of the mind being included in Physics theories going forward also, (which I think as being a useful step forwards).
She also goes into it all in way more detail
in this Youtube, which is mainly for us OOL binger-types, as its almost 3 hours long .. I'm half way thru it at the moment. Its fascinating and pretty much 'out there' (which is her job to do that, I might add).
