  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi, does anyone have/had 6th grade science projects for a girl? She has an idea but I don't know if it will meet the criteria for a project. She wants to test which product will best help with acne. She is very self conscious as you can imagine. good idea or not?

She could do a half-face test - one half washed with a salacylic acid wash, and the other half with normal face wash. Take photographs before during and after the test, and try to co-opt other teenage volunteers.

I would say that the test would need to run for a month to get any conclusive results.

I think that sounds like an interesting project. Not only would she get to practice thinking through scientific processes, it sounds like one that has practical benefit for her own life. I agree with the above^. These kinds of projects look better when tested on more than one person, and make sure she has plenty of time to get lots of results. SO if she's up to that, go for it.

For my DD's 6th grade science fair she conducted a taste test with various food, testing to see whether low/no-fat foods taste the same as their full-fat counterparts, and if they did taste different, which one tastes better.
