I'm working on completing the IGETC, (a transfer thing in california) and I just need one more science class. It needs to be under the Physical Sciences catagory, with a lab. I'm going to choose between astronomy, chemistry, and geography. But I'm not sure which to choose... what do you think? What are the pros and cons of some of these classes from your experience or what you think? What sounds easiest? Most interesting? Most useful? and why?
Here's the classes and their descriptions:
ASTR 101: Introduction to Astronomy:
This course introduces students to the field of astronomy, including planetary and stellar evolution, cosmology, and current topics.
CHEM 100: Introduction to Chemistry:
A course on the basic concepts of chemistry. The metric system, solutions, the periodic table, atomic theory and stoichiometry are some of the topics covered.
GEOG 101 and GEOG 104 Physical Geography and lab
GEOG 101:
Physical Geography is the study of the physical environment of the earth's surface and human impact on the environment. A field trip is required.
GEOG 104: Physical Geography Lab
This course focuses on application of the principles of physical geography.
