Former action movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger has not satiated his political ambitions by serving as California governor.

The Austrian-born superstar has revealed in an interview on 60 Minutes that he would "absolutely" like to be United States president if the Constitution could be changed to allow foreign-born Americans to run for the White House.

Makes sense now that Obama has paved the way for being the first President not born in the United States of America. I imagine the country will throw out the constitution in the next four years anyway with Obama and his total disreguard for it.

Yeah, because Hawaii is soooo not part of the United States. This lie has been debunked numerous times, it's still amazing you guys buy into this.

As for the OP, it would be interesting for him to be President. Could you imagine the State of the Union speeches?

Why would you bring up the truth, when he is playing make believe. Thats just rude.;)
Now look you scared away the unicorn.

even if guaranteed that Arnold would run, I wouldn't be for changing the Constitution. He can serve in every position other then presidential.
The real power is in Congress. A Congress, that has leadership can push the President to do more then he/she ever dreamed.(good or bad)

The Congress has a monopoly of power. If people ignore it, it will go bad.
So, stay involved. Congress can even overrule the president, go to far.

I would love to see the Terminator Senator.

Miter Speaker,
I would yeild back...arrrrrr....I'll Be back!^_^
Take my bill! if you want to live!
(the three lines in every Schwarzenegger movies)

No.

When you're looking to Arnie to run for President, even when you ignore his record as governor, you know your party is in trouble. Republicans were talking about this 2-3 years ago, and we lost the recent election. Coincidence? I think not.

To be fair, California was in bad shape when he took office. He shares the blame with the State Congress. I hear they are fighting tooth and nail to prevent changes that have to be made.
Conservative(even a very moderate one) Gov. with a Liberal Congress, trying to cut goverment spending, might just as well try to neuter them.

Not to be the obvious buzz-kill... but wasn't Arnold being president on of the plot points in "Demolition Man"?

If so, I'm afraid I couldn't vote for him for fear that other elements of that movie might come true.... like all restraunts becoming Taco Bell. ^_^^_^^_^

Yes, and Wesley Snipes was in prison... it seems the movie is closer to becoming a reality. Now w just need Sylvester Stallone to become a cop and we're set.

^_^^_^ I forgot about that!

Hey, if Stalone can make another Rocky movie, it stands to reason that he could still be a cop... right?

To be fair, California was not in this bad of shape when he took office in a special recall election precipitated by deregulated electricity suppliers gouging California for billions which could not be changed or stopped by the ousted Governor, Gray Davis.

Regardless of what excuses are made Arnold promised again, and again, and again that he would reach across the aisle, balance the budget and eliminate wasteful spending so that California would never again face that crisis.

He failed, big time. Not only did his promises of the first 100 days fall flat (oh, except for rolling back the Drivers Licenses for Illegals) but he went completely against them and asked for a special "one time" bond measure to balance the budget - just this once! Yeah - whatever. He's popular with the starstruck, but he's not been a particularly effective governor.
