Poeple normally say that entailment is logical rather than ontological.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Logic refers to the validity of the sequence.
Entailment is not a word with which I am familiar.

I think if there were ordinary talk about "ontological entaliment" (but btw i do not want to dissuade bricklayer from the conversation by labelling him in any way as unusual in a negative sense) .... ontological entailment might be spoken of in the sense than in a deterministic universe all future states are entailed by the initial conditions and the laws of nature. In this context present and future states of being are determined by previous ones. However the ontological status of the laws of nature themselves (are they physical or abstract or what? what is their mode of being?) might be called into question.
Another sense in which people might speak of ontological entailment is that of DNA or genes determining the phenotype or bodily make up of an organism. For instance having certain hox genes might determine the shape of out hands. This is perhaps similar to the idea the the "body" of the universe is determined by prior factors. I say that because I have been reading about Vishvarupa or the idea the Hindu god Vishnu as being the "cosmic man", with afaict the universe as his body, which itself is maybe a religious ontology of the world around us.
