Maybe it has to do with how you bring out the bad points in others, if it is not intentionally helpful then it is potentially gossip and I think I have to mention the "remove the log in your eye before the spec in someone else." quote.
thx, the pole and spec crossed my mind too.

I have to say just taking part in this forum has helped me see that I already have the answer. When it is people close to you one is hesitant to think they see you negatively at times. I seem to find ways to make excuses for those I care about.

I don't want to think I bring out the negative in others - that will impact on my self esteem. I can learn to be more aware of waht others consider superficial behaviour, sometimes I feel like I need to speak two forms of English, and one form seems to be so negatively orientated. I'm told often I wear rose glasses.

mmm,
"We come to love by not finding a perfect person, but by seeing a person perfectly".

If you can speak two forms of language then you'll make an awesome middle manager, if you ever wish to that that path.

Also thank you for sharing this with us (well I have found it rather interesting thus far).

On that lovely note ~ What is the ideal response to being slandered or gossiped about, when it is occuring?

Mentioing logs n poles n specs is a judgment in itself.

...define middle management
