Those were my thoughts exactly, lol. I was too meek and mild at the time to really put up a fuss about it, but my doctor literally assumed that I'd be scheduling an induction and just went ahead with plans for that. Luckily, God was, as He always is, in control, and she came in her own time anyway...a simple, easy, virtually painless delivery (with the help of my lovely epidural, of course), no pitocin necessary. It was so much more relaxing and fun that way...at least for me. I was seriously stressed out about being induced. It was such a huge relief when labor started on its own the night before. I always joke that the thought of the induction scared me into labor...seriously, I think it's true, lol.wanderingone said:I don't think you're the weirdo, I think the doctors are.Pushing nature when it hasn't made a mistake yet makes no sense to me. If someone doesn't have a medical reason for avoiding labor, or a major issues (like being 10 hours from the nearest medical provider) labor should be left to come on it's own. (Obviously if you're overdue that's a different story" a doctor who thinks waiting for due date because baby might come on a Holiday when they don't want to be on call is a scary thing to me.. what else are they going to rush through they don't get stuck in hospital on their off day?
