The blessings issue is clearly the most urgent technical issue, since people paid for blessings. At present, CF may be risking legal action.

I had around 32 billion in savings, that is probably gone now. I want the arcade. Wow, didnt know blessings cost so much, I have plenty left to sell, just kidding, hope they get it fixed soon and noone loses any.

Sometimes I think it would be better to wipe the whole thing, re-install, and start from scratch Sometimes there's a point where you have to cut bait and start again.

I would pick Blessings to come back. Arcade as someone said was "fun", but I rarely played in it.

Blessings on the other hand has a whole area dedicated to it (blessing exchange) and people play hundreds of games on CF to gain more blessings, and also people have saved up for years (including myself). A lot of my games that I make up for the Singles area involved giving out blessings.

A large number of members only play in the Blessings Exchange area. I fear they would stop coming here if the blessings did not come back.

IF this was my site

1) I'd buy a spare computer for testing
2) Copy the database to the new server.
3) Install a Clean vBulliten
4) See what has to be done to keep In Order
4a) Post / Threads (Should be the simplest)
4b) PMs
4c) User blogs
4d) User Profiles (Might be reduced depending on code)
4d) Blessings / Reps (Build into VBulletin also)
4e) User Customization
5) Verify that the conversion script can be run to convert the old DB to a new compatible format .
6) Check skins ect.
7) test (Maybe even get a small subset of users to help test the copy site)
8) convert if stable.

Then slowly add the other bells & whistles back.

Which makes perfectly good sense to me, rather than trying to reverse-engineer a bunch of buggy outdated software to try to get it to work again.

In all honesty I'd rather see a clean, stable site with nothing other than the ability to post, rather than have a site with "extras" that don't even work.. I mean it's a forum at the end of the day, all 80% of us need is a place to post, we can get by with the basics if stability is right around the corner with the option of expansion into the bells and whistles again. Rather than going another 3 years trying to chase bugs and leaving users hanging, doesn't this logically sound like the better solution?

What do I know though.
