  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey,
Once again I come before you asking for your prayers. I've been struggling for the past year to gain back the relationship I once had with God. I'm not there, or anywhere near. I've given up some of my worldly habits in a vain attempt to earn God's love. But have fallen in other areas of my life. I was wondering if ya'll could pray that God sparks such a desire for him in my heart that all I want to do is pray. I know with prayer and time in God's word things will look up. But I find it almost impossible to do both. Praying I can do. But have never been good about reading the bible. I need to pray more. To become active in my relationship with God once again. I fear I will fall back into old habits soon. Please pray for me. I would really appriciate it. Thanks and may God richly bless you and yours

(Jam 4:6) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.(Jam 4:7) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.(Jam 4:8) Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.(Jam 4:9) Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.(Jam 4:10) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

(1Jo 1:3) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, ...and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
(1Jo 1:4) And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
(1Jo 1:5) This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
(1Jo 1:6) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
(1Jo 1:7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
(1Jo 1:8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(1Jo 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

(Isa 55:6) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
(Isa 55:7) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
(Isa 55:8) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
(Isa 55:9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
(Isa 55:10) For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
(Isa 55:11) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
(Isa 55:12) For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
(Isa 55:13) Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

One of the most significant statements you made is that you fear that you'll fall back into your old habits. What we fear usually happens to us.By thinking fear thoughts, you are programing your subconscious mind which functions just like a computer.Your subconscious mind has no reasoning ability so it never realizes that you're thinking about something because you do NOT want it .The subconscious mind is very good at figuring out ways to bring us whatever we keep thinking about. So you can see why it is so very important to take the trash out of your mind such as fear thoughts or even worse, thoughts of immoral activities.Try this one out- PERFECT LOVE (for God)CASTHETH OUT FEAR.
As far as reading the bible - Christian bookstores now have exactly what you need.(The Holy Spirit just confirmed this)It's a new ten dollar bible written for teen girls. It's in a pop magazine format and the Holy Spirit knows you'll really like it.Especially if you read just a couple pages a day.But since it also contains articles about BOYS and more importantly, how to deal with them, you may find it hard to put down.
As far as prayer - what you really should be praying for is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. You need to receive it for salvation(John3:3-9) and once you receive it,you'll find it alot easier to keep yourself morally clean because the Holy Spirit will make you a much stronger Christian.Sure looks like that's just what you need.
Now go get that bible. It's really going to turn you on.

Bless your heart, I will pray. I also want to offer a word of encouragement. God is able to hold those who belong to him. I to have had a desire to get back to my first love in Him, others are reporting the same thing. I believe it is the beginning of a revival as His Spirit gently guides our desires
Be as trusting as a toddler who knows that if he stumbles and falls his loving Father will not harm him, but will pick him up, dust him off, and encourage him, as he sets him back up on his feet to try it again. God is that loving Father. He loves you deeply or he would not be calling you back to a closer walk.
