• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

There's this stuff that I use to fade scars and it works great! But, don't think of it as a way out to cut and then just say "The scars will go away" Because, they don't fully fade. The solution only helps them soften and become LESS visible. Not completely. Just enough, so that you actually have to look for your scars rather than have them right all up in your face. But, DO NOT, use it on a fresh cut. You need to wait for the cut to completely heal before you can use it. It's called "Palmer's Cocoa Butter with Vitamin E" It's AMAZING. In like 2 weeks of using it several times a day, I saw a difference. Also, it makes your skin really soft... so after you get out of the bath tub or shower, rub that on and your skin feels baby soft. Also, its great for after you shave. I don't know about you, but after I shave, my legs are ICHY and they are really dry. This stuff helps that. It has so many uses. It's great stuff. Just wanted to help. :)

I use that for my dry skin. I don't like my scars...but they do remind me of what my life was like before and how far I have come. My scars are super bad...because I liked to cut in the same place...I would cut over scars many many times...making them very bad looking. They are hidden unless I wear a tank top...but they are there....

I've had good luck with the silicone scar treatments. Scar Ease is the one I've used. They're fairly pricy, but you can use them over and over again. They only work on scars that are raised above the surface of the skin and/or red or discolored. They fade and flatten scars. If your scars are already pale and flat, the silicone treatments won't help.

The following are some silicone scar treatment products. You should be able to google any of them for more info.

Scar Ease
Scar FX
Morelle SOS
Rejuveness
Kelocote
Syprex
