CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I like how conservatives support the dignity of human life by protecting the unborn and by standing for traditional values, and I like how the liberals support protecting the environment and affordable healthcare.

Conservative Christians I know are great at leading with the personal relationship with Jesus; that is, evangelism.
Liberal Christians I know are great about caring for the ‘least of these’ - the poor, immigrants, refugees, etc.
Of course all Christians need both! I tend to be more guilty of the ‘things left undone’ so find my faith more challenged (in the best way) by the liberals.

Amen to that. I should have voted for them, but they were not on the ballot, and write-ins are kinda messy. Next time, maybe folks can get the ASP on the Wisconsin ballot for 2028.Yes, I'm also aware of them.

Both liberals and conservatives can be lost as a goose and still be drawn into the fold by God. But all that changes for both the rowdy goose and gander.
