Please say a prayer for us. We go to the dr. @ 2:30 to get the results of all our preliminary testing and figure out where to go from here. I'm going to ask about the Soy Isoflavones and see what he thinks about those. I'm so excited and scared...all at the same time. I just want God's will here so pray for that, please! Thank you all!

He said I don't have PCOS, I don't have hypothyroidism, J's sperm is great. But I have something-something inovulation, which basically means I ovulate little to never. He said our odds of getting pregnant on our own are slim to none. He said that it was nothing short of a miracle that we ever had Justin and that we just happened to do what we did at the exact right moment and he is what came from it. He told me it would be useless to chart, useless to buy ovulation kits. He said that I could try the soy isoflavones but that they probably wouldn't work. He told me he would prescribe clomid, but that he didn't see that working, either.

He told us that really our only hope was to go to a fertility specialist because if we've been trying for 15 months and have not gotten pregnant yet, we need some outside help. He says that I *can* get pregnant but that it is so highly unlikely. He said our best bet was just to enjoy each other and enjoy being with each other and not worry about getting pregnant. That way, if it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, then it doesn't. But I'm not okay with that.

I am really just...I'm angry. I know I have no right to be, but I'm angry. So very, very angry.

I don't know. I'm really, really torn. He said that it is basically a lot of money to maybe work and maybe not. He said I was more than welcome to try out the isoflavones and if I got pregnant, great. He said they were a lot cheaper and a lot better for my body than the Clomid is. I know that in the beginning, when J and I got married and decided to let God determine the size of our family, we were ecstatic when two months later, we found out I was carrying Justin. Now, we still have the same mindset but it is as if I've decided God isn't doing it in MY time so I'm going to take alternative measures in getting pregnant. The thing is, if God doesn't want us to have another child right now, these meds aren't going to work anyway.

Please know, I'm not saying that anyone who uses anything to get pregnant is out of God's will because I don't believe they are in any sense...but I do believe God's voice is in my head saying "Just trust me." So why can't I trust him?

how did he diagnose this? he shouldnt be giving advice like that, its not his place to tell you to not worry about it .... i wonder why he says clomid wont cause you to ovulate...

He said the clomid may work and may not. He said that in every controlled study that has been done, it works 1/2 the time and doesn't the other 1/2. The thing is, that is a LOT of money for it to not work, kwim?

I don't know how much money Clomid is.... my SIL had twins though ... if you want to, you could save money and then go for it... you still have lots of time, I can't remember exactly but I think you are still in the first half of your 20's. Lots of hugs for the stress of this....

Thanks. Yeah, I am 25, we have time. I think what we are going to do is wait until we go back to TX and go back to my OB there and see what she thinks. I'd hate to get involved with him here and then have to pick up and go back. I just...ugh. I don't even know how to explain it. It is like I am so grateful for Justin...more than you'd ever know...but I still have this big, huge place in my heart for more children and right now that place is empty and it hurts. Does that make sense? It probably doesn't...but yeah.

Clomid is about $300 a month and insurance doesn't cover it. We would pay the $300 for the Clomid and then we'd be out money for the ovulation tests that I would have to take every day...just too much money for us, especially since we are trying so hard to get out of debt. Plus that goes back to that whole...do I really want to take medication to induce ovulation and get pregnant or do I want God to truly be in control? I'm rambling, but I hope it makes sense.

Treatment with Clomid consists of 5 pills per month (to induce ovulation). You can get Clomid for $9 for a month's supply at WalMart. (Sorry, I posted $7 on your other thread, but I just looked it up to be sure!)

Clomid doesn't fix everything by any means, but the price of it shouldn't be a dealbreaker for you.

i had used clomid. was not that expensive.... but didnt work.
does work a lot of ties thou. and very slim chance of multiples...

Without insurance. Wal-Mart has a special deal on certain common prescriptions. You don't need any kind of plan.
