Poor Paul.

Regarding the Holy Spirit, He must have been protecting Paul at that particular time, from an early death if he ventured in Asia.
That is what I would think.

"asia"
occurs 21 times in 20 verses in the NKJV.

Let's look at where "Asia" is used
It is only in Acts, the Epistles of Paul and Peter and 2 times in Revelation:

First time used:
Act 2:9
“Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
3 other times used outside of Paul's Epistles:
1Peter 1:1
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
Revelation Chapter 1 Verses
Revelation Chapter 1 verse
Revelation 1:4
John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:
Grace to you and peace from Him.....
Rev 1:11
saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and,[fn]
“What thou see, write in a book/scroll and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia:......
15. Seven Churches of Asia Commentary - A Testimony of Jesus Christ

The immediate audience for the Revelation recorded by John is “the seven churches which are in Asia” (Rev. Rev. 1:4+, Rev. 1:11+). Asia is not the Asia of our day which is the world’s largest continent stretching from the Pacific Ocean on its eastern border to the Ural Mountains in the west. At the time of John, the region refers to the peninsula know as Asia Minor:

At the end of the first century the peninsula known as Asia Minor seems to have embraced six provinces, Asia, Bithynia (including Pontus), Galatia, Cappadocia, Cilicia, Lycia (including Pamphylia). The Province of Asia had been created as far back as the year B.C. 120 out of the domains bequeathed to the Senate by Attalus III., the last king of Pergamum. . . . “Asia in the New Testament,” wrote Dr. Lightfoot in 1865, “is always Proconsular Asia.”; and his dictum has not been seriously shaken by the researches of the last forty years.1

We would locate the churches today on a map of western Turkey.

Both Saul and Paul are intriguing studies.
Here is a little info on their names.....Paul "little small"....

The root-verb שאל (sha'al) means to ask, inquire, borrow, beg. This verb occurs all over the Bible, in all expectable ways. Most notably is the usage in entreaty for God's guidance or salvation (1 Samuel 23:2, Joshua 9:14). In these cases this verb occurs often without a subject: people "ask of the Lord" but what it is that they ask for lies interred in the story.

The name Paulus means Little or Small.

The name Paul (or rather Paulos) is part of a group very common Latin and Greek words, which show up all over the classics, and which all have to do with limitedness or minuteness. The Greek word παυρος (pauros) means feeble or little, and παυω (pauo

The amazing name Paul: meaning and etymology

The name Paulus means Little or Small.

The name Paul (or rather Paulos) is part of a group very common Latin and Greek words, which show up all over the classics, and which all have to do with limitedness or minuteness. The Greek word παυρος (pauros) means feeble or little, and παυω (pauo — remotely related, says Spiros Zodhiates) means to stop, retrain, desist (Luke 5:4, Ephesians 1:16). Latin words from this pool are paulatim, meaning gradually or little by little; paulisper, meaning for a little while and paululus, meaning very little. The adjective paulus means little or small. The noun paulum means a little.

Meaning & History. From the Roman family name Paulus, which meant "small" or "humble" in Latin. Paul was an important leader of the early Christian church.

Saul Definition and Meaning - Bible Dictionary

1. Name and Meaning:
The name Saul is usually regarded as simply the passive participle of the verb "to ask," and so meaning "asked" (compare 1 Samuel 8:4), but the gentilic adjective sha'uli (Numbers 26:13) would point to its having also an intensive connotation, "the one asked importunately," or perhaps, "the one asking insistently," "the beggar."

Paul Definition and Meaning - Bible Dictionary

Paul=Saul (q.v.) was born about the same time as our Lord. His circumcision-name was Saul, and probably the name Paul was also given to him in infancy "for use in the Gentile world," as "Saul" would be his Hebrew home-name.

1Sa 19:10
Then Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away from Saul's presence; and he drove the spear into the wall. So David fled and escaped that night.

The Psalms also mention David and Saul.............

Psa 18:1
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD, who spoke to the LORD the words of this song on the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. And he said:
I will love You, O LORD, my strength.
Psa 52:1
To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation[fn] of David when Doeg the Edomite went and told Saul, and said to him, “David has gone to the house of Ahimelech.”
Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man?
The goodness of God endures continually.
Psa 54:1
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments.[fn] A Contemplation[fn] of David when the Ziphites went and said to Saul, “Is David not hiding with us?”
Save me, O God, by Your name,
And vindicate me by Your strength.
Psa 57:1
To the Chief Musician. Set to “Do Not Destroy.”[fn] A Michtam of David when he fled from Saul into the cave.
Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!
For my soul trusts in You;
And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge,
Until these calamities have passed by.
Psa 59:1
To the Chief Musician. Set to “Do Not Destroy.”[fn] A Michtam of David when Saul sent men, and they watched the house in order to kill him.
Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;
Defend me from those who rise up against me.
---------------------------

Acts 7:58
They dragged him out of the city and began to stone him.
Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
Act 8:1
Now Saul was consenting to Stephen's death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
Act 8:3
As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison.
Act 9:1
Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
Act 9:4
Then he fell to the ground, and heard a Voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”

Jesus claimed to be God and was convicted of Blasphemy. So, anyone taking part in that doctrine would in their mind share in that guilt.

Leviticus 24:13-16 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
13 Then the Lord said to Moses, 14 “Bring the man who cursed to a place outside the camp. Then bring together everyone who heard him curse. They will put their hands on his head. And then all the people must throw stones at him and kill him. 15 You must tell the Israelites: Anyone who curses their God must be punished. 16 Anyone who speaks against the name of the Lord must be put to death. All the people must stone him. Any foreigner or anyone born in Israel who uses the Lord’s name in a bad way must be put to death.
