  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a question. I go to my Christian Church on Sunday, but what should I do on Saturday? What do you guys do? I know that Saturday is the real Holy Day, and you should do no work on that day, but what else? I currently dont go to a Messianic Synagogue, but what are some things that would be right to do on this real holy day?

Exo 16:23 He said to them, "This is that which the LORD has spoken, 'Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy Shabbat to the LORD. Bake that which you want to bake, and boil that which you want to boil; and all that remains over lay up for yourselves to be kept until the morning.'"
Exo 20:8-11 HNV
(8)
"Remember the day of Shabbat, to keep it holy.
(9) You shall labor six days, and do all your work,
(10) but the seventh day is a Shabbat to the LORD your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates;
(11) for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the day of Shabbat, and made it holy.
Exo 31:12-17 HNV
(12) The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying,(13) "Speak also to the children of Yisra'el, saying, 'Most certainly you shall keep my Shabbatot: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.(14) You shall keep the Shabbat therefore; for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.(15) Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Shabbat of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the day of Shabbat shall surely be put to death.(16) Therefore the children of Yisra'el shall keep the Shabbat, to observe the Shabbat throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.(17) It is a sign between me and the children of Yisra'el forever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.'"

Exo 35:1-3 HNV(1) Moshe assembled all the congregation of the children of Yisra'el, and said to them, "These are the words which the LORD has commanded, that you should do them.(2) 'Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be a holy day for you, a Shabbat of solemn rest to the LORD: whoever does any work in it shall be put to death.(3) You shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations on the day of Shabbat.'"

Lev 23:3 "'Six days shall work be done: but on the seventh day is a Shabbat of solemn rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no manner of work. It is a Shabbat to the LORD in all your dwellings.

Deu 5:12-15 HNV
(12) "Observe the day of Shabbat, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you.(13) Six days shall you labor, and do all your work;(14) but the seventh day is a Shabbat to the LORD your God: [in it] you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.(15) You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the day of Shabbat.

Neh 9:13-15 HNV
(13) You came down also on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and mitzvot,(14) and made known to them your holy Shabbat, and commanded them mitzvot, and statutes, and a law, by Moshe your servant,(15) and gave them bread from the sky for their hunger, and brought forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and commanded those who they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.

Neh 10:29-31 HNV
(29) They joined with their brothers, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moshe the servant of God, and to observe and do all the mitzvot of the LORD our Lord, and his ordinances and his statutes;(30) and that we would not give our daughters to the peoples of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons;(31) and if the peoples of the land bring wares or any grain on the day of Shabbat to sell, that we would not buy of them on the Shabbat, or on a holy day; and that we would forego the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.

Neh 13:14-22 HNV
(14) Remember me, my God, concerning this, and don't wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the observances of it.(15) In those days saw I in Yehudah some men treading winepresses on the Shabbat, and bringing in sheaves, and lading donkeys [therewith]; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Yerushalayim on the day of Shabbat: and I testified [against them] in the day in which they sold food.(16) There lived men of Tzor also therein, who brought in fish, and all manner of wares, and sold on the Shabbat to the children of Yehudah, and in Yerushalayim.(17) Then I contended with the nobles of Yehudah, and said to them, What evil thing is this that you do, and profane the day of Shabbat?(18) Didn't your fathers do thus, and did not our God bring all this evil on us, and on this city? yet you bring more wrath on Yisra'el by profaning the Shabbat.(19) It came to pass that, when the gates of Yerushalayim began to be dark before the Shabbat, I commanded that the doors should be shut, and commanded that they should not be opened until after the Shabbat: and some of my servants set I over the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the day of Shabbat.(20) So the merchants and sellers of all kind of wares lodged outside of Yerushalayim once or twice.(21) Then I testified against them, and said to them, Why lodge you about the wall? if you do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the Shabbat.(22) I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the day of Shabbat. Remember to me, my God, this also, and spare me according to the greatness of your loving kindness.

Psa 92:1-15 HNV
(1) <<A Psalm. A song for the day of Shabbat.>> It is a good thing to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, Elyon;
(2) to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night,
(3) with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp, and with the melody of the lyre.
(4) For you, LORD, have made me glad through your work. I will triumph in the works of your hands.
(5) How great are your works, LORD! Your thoughts are very deep.
(6) A senseless man doesn't know, neither does a fool understand this:
(7) though the wicked spring up as the grass, and all the evil-doers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
(8) But you, LORD, are on high forevermore.
(9) For, behold, your enemies, LORD, for, behold, your enemies shall perish. All the evil-doers will be scattered.
(10) But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox. I am anointed with fresh oil.
(11) My eye has also seen my enemies. My ears have heard of the wicked enemies who rise up against me.
(12) The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree. He will grow like a cedar in Levanon.
(13) They are planted in the LORD's house. They will flourish in our God's courts.
(14) They will still bring forth fruit in old age. They will be full of sap and green,
(15) to show that the LORD is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

On Shabbat we meet around 10:00 - 11:00 and read certain scriptures.
Then we read the Torah portion, actually we all share in reading outloud. Then we sing songs and some do dance Davidic dancing in a circle.
Read certain Scriptures. I can't remember what each certain scripture is called right off. Only been Studying Messianic Judaism for about one year. I sure love learning Hebrew Dancing.
Then we talk about what was read
Then we sing and dance some more.
Then we take a break.
Then we read B'rit Khadashah portions, which the younger generation reads. After of course certian Scriptures as a blessing I sense.
Then we read the ending Scripture after each reading(even the above readings).
Then we sing and dance.
Then a woman stands in front of the group and we have prayer.
Then we have the Finally Certian Scriptures readings.
Then we sit down to share a meal which all families and most individuals bring something to share that is according to Scripture.
We have many sayings from Scripture that we pray and say outloud.
Then we go and do what we hope is for YHWH the rest of the day. Actually if you want to start on Shabbat then on Sunset Friday you would start. And also actually everyday should be a day with YHWH's Ways in mind and also come forth from your thoughts to others you see.
Shalom,

Here are somemore Scripture to ponder.

Isa 56:1-8 HNV
(1) Thus says the LORD, Keep you justice, and do righteousness; for my yeshu`ah is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.(2) Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who holds it fast; who keeps the Shabbat from profaning it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.(3) Neither let the foreigner, who has joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, the LORD will surely separate me from his people; neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.(4) For thus says the LORD of the eunuchs who keep my Shabbatot, and choose the things that please me, and hold fast my covenant:(5) To them will I give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters; I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.(6) Also the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD, to minister to him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, everyone who keeps the Shabbat from profaning it, and holds fast my covenant;(7) even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.(8) The Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Yisra'el, says, Yet will I gather [others] to him, besides his own who are gathered.

Mar 6:1-13 HNV
(1) He went out from there. He came into his own country, and his talmidim followed him.(2) When the Shabbat had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, "Where did this man get these things?" and, "What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?(3) Isn't this the carpenter, the son of Miriam, and brother of Ya`akov, Yosi, Yehudah, and Shim`on? Aren't his sisters here with us?" They were offended at him.(4) Yeshua said to them, "A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house."(5) He could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people, and healed them.(6) He marveled because of their unbelief. He went around the villages teaching.(7) He called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits.(8) He charged them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse,(9) but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.(10) He said to them, "Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.(11) Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sedom and `Amorah in the day of judgment than for that city!"(12) They went out and preached that people should repent.(13) They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick, and healed them.

Luk 4:1-32 HNV
(1) Yeshua, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Yarden, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness(2) for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.(3) The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."(4) Yeshua answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'"(5) The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.(6) The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.(7) If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."(8) Yeshua answered him, "Get behind me Hasatan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.'"(9) He led him to Yerushalayim, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,(10) for it is written, 'He will give his angels charge concerning you, to guard you;'(11) and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.'"(12) Yeshua answering, said to him, "It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"(13) When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.(14) Yeshua returned in the power of the Spirit into the Galil, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.(15) He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.(16) He came to Natzeret, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the day of Shabbat, and stood up to read.(17) The book of the prophet Yeshaiyahu was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,(18) "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,(19) and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."(20) He closed the book, gave it back to the shammash, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.(21) He began to tell them, "Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."(22) All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, "Isn't this Yosef's son?"(23) He said to them, "Doubtless you will tell me this parable, 'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Kefar-Nachum, do also here in your hometown.'"(24) He said, "Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.(25) But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Yisra'el in the days of Eliyahu, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.(26) Eliyahu was sent to none of them, except to Tzarfat, in the land of Tzidon, to a woman who was a widow.(27) There were many lepers in Yisra'el in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Na`aman, the Syrian."(28) They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.(29) They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.(30) But he, passing through the midst of them, went his way.(31) He came down to Kefar-Nachum, a city of the Galil. He was teaching them on the day of Shabbat,(32) and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.

And finally for now

Joh 5:1-18 HNV
(1) After these things, there was a Jewish festival, and Yeshua went up to Yerushalayim.(2) Now in Yerushalayim by the sheep gate, there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, "Beit-Chesed," having five porches.(3) In these lay a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, or paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water;(4) for an angel of the Lord went down at certain times into the pool, and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was made whole of whatever disease he had.(5) A certain man was there, who had been sick for thirty-eight years.(6) When Yeshua saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, "Do you want to be made well?"(7) The sick man answered him, "Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I'm coming, another steps down before me."(8) Yeshua said to him, "Arise, take up your mat, and walk."(9) Immediately, the man was made well, and took up his mat and walked. Now it was the Shabbat on that day.(10) So the Judeans said to him who was cured, "It is the Shabbat. It is not lawful for you to carry the mat."(11) He answered them, "He who made me well, the same said to me, 'Take up your mat, and walk.'"(12) Then they asked him, "Who is the man who said to you, 'Take up your mat, and walk'?"(13) But he who was healed didn't know who it was, for Yeshua had withdrawn, a crowd being in the place.(14) Afterward Yeshua found him in the temple, and said to him, "Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you."(15) The man went away, and told the Judeans that it was Yeshua who had made him well.(16) For this cause the Judeans persecuted Yeshua, and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Shabbat.(17) But Yeshua answered them, "My Father is still working, so I am working, too."(18) For this cause therefore the Judeans sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Shabbat, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

Act 13:14-52 HNV
(14) But they, passing on from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia. They went into the synagogue on the day of Shabbat, and sat down.(15) After the reading of the Torah and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, "Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak."(16) Sha'ul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, "Men of Yisra'el, and you who fear God, listen.(17) The God of this people chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they stayed as aliens in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm, he led them out of it.(18) For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.(19) When he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Kena`an, he gave them their land for an inheritance, for about four hundred fifty years.(20) After these things he gave them judges until Shemu'el the prophet.(21) Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Sha'ul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Binyamin, for forty years.(22) When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, 'I have found David the son of Yishai, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.'(23) From this man's seed, God has brought salvation to Yisra'el according to his promise,(24) before his coming, when Yochanan had first preached the immersion of repentance to Yisra'el.(25) As Yochanan was fulfilling his course, he said, 'What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.'(26) Brothers, children of the stock of Avraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.(27) For those who dwell in Yerushalayim, and their rulers, because they didn't know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Shabbat, fulfilled them by condemning him.(28) Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.(29) When they had fulfilled all things that were written about him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a tomb.(30) But God raised him from the dead,(31) and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from the Galil to Yerushalayim, who are his witnesses to the people.(32) We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,(33) that God has fulfilled the same to us, their children, in that he raised up Yeshua. As it is also written in the second psalm, 'You are my Son. Today I have become your father.'(34) "Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: 'I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.'(35) Therefore he says also in another psalm, 'You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.'(36) For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.(37) But he whom God raised up saw no decay.(38) Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins,(39) and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the Torah of Moshe.(40) Beware therefore, lest that come on you which is spoken in the prophets:(41) 'Behold, you scoffers, and wonder, and perish; for I work a work in your days, a work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.'"(42) So when the Judeans went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Shabbat.(43) Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Judeans and of the devout proselytes followed Sha'ul and Bar-Nabba; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.(44) The next Shabbat almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.(45) But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Sha'ul, and blasphemed.(46) Sha'ul and Bar-Nabba spoke out boldly, and said, "It was necessary that God's word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.(47) For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, 'I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.'"(48) As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.(49) The Lord's word was spread abroad throughout all the region.(50) But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Sha'ul and Bar-Nabba, and threw them out of their borders.(51) But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.(52) The talmidim were filled with joy with the Holy Spirit.

Heb 4:1-16 HNV
(1) Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.(2) For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn't profit them, because it wasn't mixed with faith by those who heard.(3) For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, "As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest;" although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.(4) For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, "God rested on the seventh day from all his works;"(5) and in this place again, "They will not enter into my rest."(6) Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter therein, and they to whom the good news was before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,(7) he again defines a certain day, today, saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), "Today if you will hear his voice, don't harden your hearts."(8) For if Yehoshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.(9) There remains therefore a Shabbat rest for the people of God.(10) For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.(11) Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.(12) For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.(13) There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.(14) Having then a great Kohen Gadol, who has passed through the heavens, Yeshua, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession.(15) For we don't have a Kohen Gadol who can't be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.(16) Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.

Shalom,
