Self denial and sacrifice are important, they help us to grow in strength and grace
CCC 2180 The precept of the Church specifies the law of the Lord more precisely: "On Sundays and other holy days of obligation the faithful are bound to participate in the Mass."
"The precept of participating in the Mass is satisfied by assistance at a Mass which is celebrated anywhere in a Catholic rite either on the holy day or
on the evening of the preceding day."
Yes, self-denial and sacrifice are important, but more important is the grace conferred by the sacraments (notably the Eucharist). We go to Mass, freely, of our own will, to worship the Lord, be it Saturday evening or Sunday morning. I would think that we would rejoice in the fact that people make the effort
at all to attend Mass, to celebrate and worship Him, not bellyache about what particular time that community worship is being done.
All time is precious, all time is holy, all time used worshipping the Lord is time well spent, be it Saturday or Sunday. The fact that the Church does not make a distinction between Saturday evening of Sunday morning Mass tells me that both are
equally acceptable to the Lord.
Whatever spin individuals want to put on the motives of others who wish to worship at a particular time may work for them, but personally I think they should be more concerned about their own habits rather than worry about the habits of others.
