• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I think there are real groups out there

I think there are real thread necromancer groups out there. :sorry:

of satanists who are a part of a real traditional lineage or secret society. I'm inclined to think they wouldn't put information about themselves on the internet.

So they exist, but hide their tracks so well as to be undetectable?

How do you know that they exist? What do they believe?

Yep, I'm asking about Satanism. I was intrigued to discover we have a satanist on the forum. So I'd like to know what exactly you believe...

Who is Satan? Is he the same person as depicted in the Bible (i.e. same personality)? If not, where do you get your knowledge of him?
What are your practices? What does it mean on a day-to-day basis to be a satanist?
Anything else you can tell us?

You get that satanism <staff edit> out of here. . .

This is really super scary. I feel sorry for these people and most of them are young people that did not grow up with God in their life and all they are out to do is be different. Little do they know what they are doing will eventually hurt them in the end. Let's just hope God reveals himself to them before it's too late.

Talk to rainycity, they're the necrothreadomancer.

Though, really, if this is going to be the "outreach" section with a stated purpose of discussion and education, then forbidding a certain faith from
being discussed seemed counter productive.

I offer that they are people who grew up with a different, or less thorough, presentation of God than you did, or adults who moved away due to a sense of distance from God. Unless we (generic we) are going to get into the discussion of what or who the "real" God is.

Yes, just as there are real Christians, there are real Satanists.

One could argue that theistic Satanists (for whom Satan is a supernatural or divine being, and they worship said being) are a branch of the Abrahamic tree, just one defined by a preference for rooting for the other team. And thus possibly real Christians.

The most common misconception about Satanism is that they worship Satan. They do not. They do not even believe in God or Satan.

This is not quite correct. Many Satanists are atheists, but not all. There are theistic Satanists as well. This was addressed a few times much earlier in the thread, so I won't bother to go into it more.

As for some secret group of Satanists? Yeah, unlikely. The idea of some super secret group of Satanists who are so secretive, and you can't find any information about them online or whatever... but you happen to know of them? Doesn't quite make sense to me. ;)

The only secret Satanists are the Jews who control the world. Not all Jews, of course. Just the ones that are of the devil.

Well, yeah, Jews who are Satanists would be of the devil. Goes without saying, doesn't it?

And yet, there your words are, in all their glory.

Let me guess: The Protocols of the Elders of Zion? That fraudulent, third-rate hack document that's been used to promote and justify anti-semitism for more than a century? Ah, if only all those conspiracy theorists bothered just ONCE to do as much as a superficial check of their sources! But no, all their skepticism is stored up to deal with anything that might cast a shadow of doubt on their theories.

I think CF should have a basic IQ test during the registration process so as to avoid comments like this on the forum.

Spoonbill, your comment.......^_^ well it has kind of made my day after I finished laughing and nearly choked on my tea.

I would expect to find such a requirement a rough pre-requiste of an esoteric forum. The nice thing about Christianity is that it can be inclusive of sheeple.

"Sheeple"? I've got to remember that one!

Personally, I've got to admit that my tolerance for idiocy is somewhat limited, unless I'm faced with a person who obviously can't help it due to a birth defect or some other medical condition.
And as for spirituality being accessible to all: I guess even a total moron might find solace in his naive and simplistic beliefs - but to shape a whole community to accomodate these platitudes seems to seriously inhibit its ability to convey *more* meaning to those who *can* grasp it.
In other words: "dumbing down" lowers your standards and promotes ignorance, in the end. Call me elitist, but I prefer it if we ask a little bit more of an effort from people, rather than bowing to the lowest common denominator.

Dumbing down is not what applied theology [Christian faith in action] is about. It can be so simple a small child may safely paddle and so deep elephants can freely swim.
Its a community that focuses upon Christ from which ever perspective a person is capable of standing.

Christ told us to love God with all we had including our minds although I do agree there are prime examples of sheeple who think the all your mind part was only optional.
