As I've mentioned before I think, depending on the chapel, being at my school can be extremely depressing. Granted, it could be just homework and all.

But how can you tell if there is a satanic oppression in a place? There's obviously no witchcraft or anything there; which leaves no "entrances" for demonic powers. Irritating doctrine certainly, but they at least claim to be Christian.

Thoughts anyone?

i think we'd have to know more about your school and what it is that you find depressing.

as for the witchcraft i wouldn't be surprized. All satan needs is one opening.

And witchcraft can be something as "simple" as this testimony that an evangelist friend brought back from New England last week.

He was staying at a house with several other ministers, all teaching and preaching in different places in the region (NY, NJ, RI, MA).

He said one morning after they all got up that a minister from Finland who was preaching at a church in Boston said, :You won't believe the church I was in last night. I don't know if this kind of thing takes place a lot here in the U.S., but...

The preacher of this church had several ladies in a loft who were "special ministers" unto him. Now something tells you right there "something wicked this way blows". But this church preacher pointed to one of the ladies whose husband had been riding her about something in the church, told her that she needed to pray that God would "give him (her husband) cancer" to teach him a lesson not to mess with God's "anointed".

The Finnish preacher said, "I know that's straight witchcraft."

Incredible!!!

Much of what passes for "discernment" today is nothing but witchcraft in disguise. It is control and manipulation by fear and intimidation which is at the heart of all witchcraft.
That's for sure! I have noticed that alot of this
so called "discernment" is really just being suspicious of everything and everyone. I know all too well how its used to try to prove they are superiour to all others and try to "straighten" us all out :(

The devil doesn't rely on just witchcraft to operate in peoples lives. People can open that door a number of ways. Basicaly, if you're operating out of the will of God, you could be leaving that door open. There are only two powers in operation in this world. God, and the devil. The devil will sneek in where ever he can. It could even be the religious spirits. Religious spirits keep people in bondage, and bondage doesn't come from God. I've heard it put like this before, "if the devil can't keep you from the word, he'll take you past the word" meaning he'll take you down some rabbit trail and get you all twisted up in something that doesn't even matter. Look at all the rules that have to be kept in churches that operate more in religion than they do in the Spirit of God. If you don't do things just as they like, they will ask you, sometimes not so politely to leave. I had more to say, but I've been interrupted a couple times while trying to write this, so I'll leave it here for now.

Wow,I am a member of MysticWicks,18000 pagans and witches,I love them so much, and I am blessed to have them as my best friends,I love them so much,I can hardly stand it.

If you are opressed by the wicked one, dont blame another, look into your own life first.Only you can give the wicked one access into your own life.

No matter how dark anyplace seems,if you have light in you,it will pierce the darkest night.

It saddens me to see my friends spoken of like they are
rejects, and evil, when I know them as loving and kind, and you should see the way they bless each other.
We could learn from them, some of us here.

God is walking among them, and he will bless them, because he loves them.

The way the wicked one gets into your life,is by sin,,,,,yours.

Woe woe woe...I guess I didn't make myself clear. Yeah whitchcraft can be as simiple as control, but I guess I shouldnt've mentioned anything like that.

I just find their sermons depressing; I mean, they're calvinists after all!! We had a message by a college student, and she just blatatantly stated that God gave her some sickness to teach her something.

If I weren't in my right mind and knew better (despite all these accusations about WOF), I think I would kill myself under such depressing teaching.

And people are stupid enough to wonder why such a thing as atheists exist???? Maybe it was centuries of such obsurd religious teaching like what I'm getting.

WE CAUSED OUR OWN PROBLEM!!!!

Duh.

Do they confess Jesus as Lord and Christ? Do they believe the Jesus died for them and rose from the dead?
If not, they are lost and a part of the antichrist system.
Jesus is the one and only way. Nobody comes to the Father except by Jesus.
Jesus is all.

I'm at a loss. I don't even know what to say to that, but I think you're messing around in some dangerous territory dude. God does not have any fellowship with pagans or witches.

I dont see that as being that way,God loves me,and I love them, and God loves them. And he does have fellowship with them.

Reminds me of the religious leaders finding fault with Christ for eating with,,,,the common folk,,.
He is a friend of publicans and sinners they said.

No they are not all perfect, but neither are those here.

I dont worry about the devil,Im sure he is here as he is everywhere else.Sometimes he is even in the pulpit preaching.

But God is everywhere also.

Wrong!

John 1:11-13
11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Jesus sat down and ate with the "sinners and bad" people, He never called them friends. He said that He came for the sick. They came to Him.

Matthew 9:9-13 9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. 10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance

That being said.... If we do not speak the Word to them, how will the HS ever convict them. I agree that we should not count them as friends, but it is not wrong to show them a loving God and speak the Word

The Holy Spirit convicts, not because of our words, but because of Who He is.

Yes, I agree that we should speak the Word to them, but Holy Spirit's conviction is not dependent upon us speaking.

Holy Spirit has an open door to convict because the Son shed His blood on the Cross.

As we are who we are in Christ, we carry His Presence with us in the Holy Spirit.
