When we gave our hearts to Jesus Christ and turned our life over to Him, it was not the end of our problem with sin. we still have problems because of our flesh and Satan knowing our weakness, exploits these problems to their fullest.
Jesus went to the cross, bore our sins, and died in our place.
Through our relationship with Christ, we can have power over sin.
In Colossians 2, Paul speaks of the victory of Jesus over the principalities and powers of darkness that were spoiled through the cross. Jesus made an open display of His victory and triumph at Calvary.
The prince of this world [Satan] was defeated at the cross. His power to control your life and force you to do things contrary to God's righteousness was taken from him so that you can enter into victory of Jesus Christ.
Now you can have the freedom from sin and its power over your life.
Paul says, the prince of this world [Satan] was judged at the cross. By our identification with Jesus Christ in the new life He gives us and through the power of His Spirit, we can be free from sin.
