Possibly the most rigorously tested pistol ever developed, the new SAR9 endured 130° baking to simulate desert conditions, -50° for the arctic, salt fog, high altitude, 24 hours of rain, solar radiation, fouling, drop tests and 150,000 round of live fire in the factory. Police later ran their own test that included 50,000 rounds. Finally, a NATO test against major manufacturers from Austria, German and the U.S. ran 90,000 rounds with the SAR9 the clear winner. However, the SAR9 has more to offer than just toughness and reliability. 299.00

Anyone have any experience with one of these? I may have to adopt a new baby ;)

Don't plan on it taking down a bear in your tent lol.

My 9mm's are Beretta's so I can't help you. I can tell you if I owned one it certainly wouldn't be as well tested as you already described. The thing is does it fit your hand well ?

The video says it has three grip panels so I would have to try them all. I have huge bear hands anyway lol. I am actually a Ruger man but this has caught my attention and I am like a spider monkey on mountain dew. I am pumped up and gotta get my hands on one.
I like Beretta as well. I have owned several ;]

Ya, they're alright. One's kind of big overall (fs 92), the other kind of fat for a short nosed gun but it handles well and is quite accurate even with me shooting it, it just jams if you don't watch your grip ( it's the old version 7000). I like the 7000 better than the 92 actually, maybe I should get it rebuilt and just sell the 92. Or get a newer version 7000.

Yeah Dave I had 92 that would jam more often than I liked. I didn't limp wrist it or anything, It just was cranky on what it would feed.
It had to be federal premium or it would hiccup every time.
I guess some are just that way though.
One thing about this new SAR is that it is made in Turkey and they say it will eat anything including steel case ammo with any issues.

I've considered a Ruger too. Just in this state anything new is ruined by the 10lb trigger pull law on new hand guns. It just wrecks new guns.
The new Rugers are sweet shooters. I have a p-95 that is a tank. The new SR9 Ruger has a lot better trigger than the older versions.
I trust Ruger and have been a loyal customer for many years :]
I love there American line. Affordable quality

I don't recall my 92 jamming on heavier rounds at all, maybe on 115 ball ammo.. But I used defense ammo in it, 135 hollows and they were fine. The 7000 is persnickety with 115 hollow point Remington but it's also very accurate with them, so maybe it's just a matter of finding the right defense ammo for it... The cheap dirty burning practice stuff can jam anything imo and be all over a target, so it's pretty useless unless you just like to hear bang and smell powder burn !

This and the cable-lock storage in cars tells me you live in a crappy state.
May I ask which one?

In Canada, you would need a trigger lock, and it would also need to be locked in a case.

I have had a couple opportunities to shot Berettas. I don't find them uncomfortable and my hands are not real big. My impression is that the triggers tend to have a lot of take-up and a long reset, but I am only comparing against CZ pattern guns. I have seen the SAR9, but have never held one; I am not a plastic gun guy. I know of only one Glock owner at our club, and my Pastor has a M&P 9 mm which is a great feeling pistol.

Sarsalmas makes good quality guns from what I have heard.
