Hello Susana!

Thought I would stick my 2 cents in here.....:D

When I was a kid my Mom made my peanut butter sandwiches with Miracle Whip.....she didn't use grape jelly! I have also had tomatos and Miracle Whip on white bread sandwiches....love them Big Boy tomatos in the summertime, up in Michigan tho! My all time favorite way to top a hamburger is with mayo and sliced green olives and tomato slice! Yummy! There was a place in Lansing Michigan called "Kewpees" that had the best olive deluxe burgers you ever ate! They ground their own beef daily and used all fresh ingredients....last time I was in Mich they were still in business....been open for like 70 yrs or so in that area! They were the first drive-thru burger joint I ever ate at, as my Mom was driving when I was all of like 3-4 yrs old!:D Yummy food!

For strange combinations, I add potato chips to my tuna & mayo sandwiches on white bread......make sandwich, and add the chips to it just before eating! Gives the tuna some crunch!;)

Nowadays, my favorite sandwiche to make for lunch is deli style fresh sliced roast beef, with mayo on white, rye or pumpernickle bread! I especially prefer the top round from the Publix deli's......better flavor than the Boar's Head brand. Hisgirl should know about Publix, in case you are interested! ;)

Have a blessed day filled with tasty things!

Like the grace of our Lord Jesus! "Oh, taste and see....."

Oh! That is real interesting! here, custard is made from milk, egg, sugar, and flavoring.

It is here too if you can be bothered and it doesn't curdle, but life's too short - get the powder out!

Blessings, love Susana

You don't like honey on your sausage, or even better, maple syrup?! Why, that's downright just plain unAmerican... ;)

Anyway, sandwhich... one of my favorites (though I rarely make it) is banana and mayonaise ^.^ mmmmmmm

I'm sorry, but if I ever go to America I'm taking my own food! Do you even have Marmite over there?

Chip butties are nice too.

What is marmite?

Marmite is a gorgeous tasting savoury spread, made from yeast extract. Great in sandwiches and on toast. :yum:

I've GOT to look for this Marmite! Is it salty? Sweet? What else does it taste similar to? Would you eat it in a sandwich? Would you spread it on a tortilla?

Speaking of tortillas, another sandwich:

Spread it with cream cheese. Drop on sprouts, tomato, avocado, thinly-sliced cucumber, thinly-sliced red onion, a thinly-sliced mushroom, and cilantro. Roll it up and serve it with southern iced tea on a hot day, and the temperature will drop 10 degrees.

(Do you know how to make southern iced tea???)

Cold tea!
Well, I've had something called iced tea from a can here in the UK. Sweet and fizzy and very strange.
I know your "proper" version is probably totally different, and delicious, but I'll take a bit of convincing.

As for Marmite - people either love it or hate it, not much in between. Personally I have to be in the right mood.
Oh, and has anyone said it goes well with mustard and cress?

Blessings, love Susana

So what do you do to make iced tea?
Just brew the usual tea in a pot with boiling water, add sugar, then chill it?

Nothing nicer than a hot cup of tea, even on a hot day.
Then again, I really don't fully appreciate just how hot it is in the South do I?!

Blessings, love Susana

Ooh...I just had an idea Susana....how about a fried egg sandwich...first we go out into the street and drop an egg on the asphalt....LOL! Yes, it can get quite hot in the deep south.....hot enough to cook an egg on the sidewalk! As far as iced tea, different tea leaves work best for iced tea....luzianne is best. Do yall have that there?
