  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Officials with the Democratic National Committee have accused the presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders of improperly accessing confidential voter information gathered by the rival campaign of Hillary Clinton, according to several party officials.

Tsk tsk tsk. Uncle Bernie got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Wonder if he felt the burn?

Hopefully this will embolden him to go independent so he can really kick Hillary's butt and Trump's along with it.

Bernie will be the next president of the USA - people should just start accepting it now rather than fighting the inevitable. The DNC is stupid (not as stupid as the RNC but then again who is).

Really? Even if Bernie wins New York he's got an uphill battle.

And he has no chance if he goes independent, all he will achieve is splitting the Democrat vote.

Remember Hillary has 2 million more votes than him so far in the primaries. Believe it or not, there are many Democrats who do actually want Hillary to win, and believe Bernie is either too extreme or unrealistic, or both.

And Bernie has said that if Hillary wins he'll support her, I can't see him being a sore loser about it and going against his word and going independent.

No, the last thing this nation needs is another socialist snake in power. There just are not enough to deceived voters out there for it to happen.

His own party is finding out and sanctioning him.

Thanks for your opinion, I disagree.

We've always had socialists in power in this country - every single president.

Not only that, but the guy who breached the authority was recommended to the Sanders campaign from the DNC and had previously worked for Clinton.

Dredging up an old (and non-) story shows how desperate some are to sling mud at Sanders>

It was the result of a recurring security flaw that had previously been reported to the DNC that they failed to permanently lock down.

No reaching Sanders is a snake and always will be.

You bring up something from December that's already been handled, pretend as if it's new, and want to describe someone else as a snake?

Not to mention, having nothing to do with Bernie himself, other than the fact that he handled the situation immediately. Based on everything i had read, it seems likely that the staffer who enacted the breach was a plant by Clinton/the DNC.

So, with no actual mud to sling at Sanders with this (non-)story, you probably best be getting back to saying "but he's a socialist!" as if repeating that phrase is somehow an indictment of Sanders policies or character.

I'm not a Sanders fan, but I would like to see him take it to Hillary...this super-delegate system on the democratic side of the fence is so out of touch with their own voter base it's astounding.

However, I'd have to object to your comment about the RNC...not for personal reasons (I go libertarian every time), I know you want to put your personal bias into the discussion, but you have to look at this situation objectively.

The reality is, the RNC delegates/primaries more closely match the republican voter base's wishes than their DNC counterpart.

Notice the super-delegates section for the DNC. 469-31 in favor of Hillary...really?...really? Sanders has more popularity among democrats and any democratic candidate I can remember, yet, the super-delegates are backing Hillary by a ratio of 15:1.

The game is rigged my friend. The DNC cares more about being able to say "we put up the first female president" than actually putting up the guy the majority of the voters in the party want. They want another patch to stick on the wall next to the "we put up the first Black president" patch they put up a couple years ago.

Bernie is not going to be the next president...He won't get the nod, he won't win a "write-in" campaign, the DNC won't let him get through the primaries and even if he did run as an independent, the electoral college would see to it that he doesn't win.

The Democrats are no better than the Republicans in that regard...they just so happen to exploit a few causes you agree with to lure you in.

Right, libertarians never have personal bias in favor of the Republican party, LOL That's rich!

Why do so many conservatives think that declaring that they are not sympathetic towards the Republican party will actually fool anyone? I think they are all just trying to fool themselves; in any case, they're not fooling anyone else. It's a very weak and transparent game.

The reality is, the RNC delegates/primaries more closely match the republican voter base's wishes than their DNC counterpart.

Bernie is the only one saying the game is rigged and he is the only outsider.

Nice racist comment about Obama - shows your true colors.

I agree, except the good thing about them is they don't blaspheme God by exploiting His name to fool weak Christians and seekers. I know that as an atheist you hate religion and religious people so I think it's very natural that you would be conservative. Most atheists I know actually are very conservative because it fits nicely with their lack of moral code. They love money far more than people, in general. But they have lured you in on the basis of mammon-worship, which is already the atheist religion. They're much better at exploiting people's base sinful hearts - the DNC loses in that area.

This non-story is a few months old and has already been addressed by the Sanders campaign.

You're going to have to reach a little harder next time.

And no sources cited in the OP and the story has already been disproved by Snopes. SMH.

You bring up something from December that's already been handled, pretend as if it's new, and want to describe someone else as a snake?

http://www.snopes.com/bernie-sanders-campaign-data-breach-controversy/

It appears that some Republicans must be getting desperate to slander Bernie if they have to dig this deep to dredge up these non-stories about him.

Sanders is the only person who will stop the USA from becoming purely corporate run, OK maybe Trump will. Apart from those two I'm not aware there are any candidates, just corporate stooges.

One problem is the next election and from then on are likely to be just corporate run, I'm concerned that the US has gone so far to the right that the last vestiges of democracy will disappear.

There are two contradicting definitions of what the Left - Right spectrum actually is and we may mean opposite things by it.

I'm referring to Right as meaning run by the rich for the benefit of the rich. The other definition is that Left means progressive and we are moving from high taxation to low taxation particularly on the rich so it is the RNC that is progressive. It has been argued that in the distant past the rich paid no tax so that is the way things should be, but if you were in England for most of it's history (1066 onward) for example the lower 80% had nothing, but that was an economy the colonies needed to break away from. Economically that was very right wing, I hope nobody wants that.

I would agree that the rich and powerful and the banks know better how to run the economy. The problem is they will run it for their own benefit and it will impoverish most of the population and bankrupt the country. You need some way of achieving balance on the Left - Right (economically I mean) scale. The Germans have done just that and so have all of the World's successful countries. It is a matter of debate and definition as to whether the US, which has long run the worst current account deficit, is a successful economy.
