hey i have been looking around for some samurai anime and saw Samurai Deeper Kyo. i havent been able to get my hands on one since finances have been sort of low but what do you guys who have seen it think of it? is it worth spending money on?

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The story line is pretty good up to about ep 12... then it's all downhill from there...
The manga is a lot better than the anime. I read 5 volumes of it and it was SOOOO much better. But don't know if the manga stays good though...

I like the manga. I only saw the first few eps of the anime. It is not a realistic samurai anime though. If you want something realistic, look somewhere else.
SAint Mark - If you are referring to the forest stuff (the search for Kyo's body) then yes it is there, but I have no idea how similar it is to the anime. But I *THINK* the manga goes beyond the anime.
I'm guessing that the anime is a case of "the-manga-is-still-going-but-we're-going-to-stop-here." When I first checked Tokyopop's website for the total number of volumes for SDK, it was 18. Now it is up to 26 or 27. That leads me to believe that the series is still being produced in Japan.

The anime series is just sorta...blah. It starts out pretty well, but got to a point where it wasn't even worth continuing with it. I've never read the manga, but it's bound to be better.

is there any other samurai anime that is more realistic like Rurouni Kenshin? aside from the fact that Kenshin style is probably not real but you know what i mean.

samurai deeper kyois my favorite manga definetely buy the manga. the anime is kinda weird and completely different form the manga. in the anime bad dudes tyurn into monsters but in the manga it is agreat story!!!!!!!!!!!
