It is a riddle about time (the time of fruit/meat…central to the bible from the very beginning). If you actually plowed the furrow (old measurements of 600 feet long) you would make four passes (4x600). This 2,400 is the plowing with the heifer (that's 6.66 x 360). The 30 guests and 30 sheets and 30 garments plus the 6 days of the wedding before the final day add up to 2,496. This is the bet (60 or 30 plus 30) short of 2,556 (7 days.. or 7 solar years).
