  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi everyone,

I am a 26-year old catholic man from The Netherlands. For over 6 months, I have been in love with a man and he is in love with me. He is catholic too. We are feeling great and are not falling into sinful behaviour like sex (we only cuddle and kiss).

As most of you will know, we have gay marriage in this country. Does this mean that if we marry, we can have intercourse which is no longer sinful because it happened in wedlock?

Hey Thomas,
First of all - congratulations to you and your man. Ain't love grand?

Second - at least in my opinion, if you monogamously couple (whether married or not) I think that sex is a natural expression of God's love for the both of you as individuals AND as a couple. So it would be fine. BUT, I am not a roman catholic...I am not sure how you feel about going against church doctrine.

However the two of you work this out, I wish you both many blessings as your life of love together deepens, and may you feel God's touch now and always.

in the bible, it still says,
"you must not have sexual relations with a man as you would a woman. That is a hateful sin" leviticus 18:22
also read 1 corinthians 6:9-11
romans 1:26 and 27 and then romans 2:2
I don't wish to be the bringer of sad news, I only wish for you to know what the bible says about homosexuality, whether in marriage or not.
Good luck in whatever decision you make,
please don't hate me,
C@ xx :prayer:

Leviticus is a book of Jewish law. It does not apply to Gentiles (which doesn't change the meaning of the other verses...I'm just saying).

Chalice thunder expressed well. Keep praying, keep your thoughts on God, and go live your life with your loved one in happiness and peace.
Great post! It's so refreshing to see peace and love in a thread. Lately, I've seen just a lot of hate and bigotry.

Hi

This choice is up to you, however there will be consequences. Firstly the word of God is strictly against homosexual behavior and secondly, so is the catholic church. It will make no difference if you wait for Marriage. Sin is sin. Do not be deceived by the lies of Satan, he is good at playing with peoples feelings.

It's up to you Thomas. You should take this seriously, I pray you consider the truth of what God Say's.

Romans 3:31
Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

Romans 6:14
For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Romans 6:15
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!

OK, then try 1Cor 6:9-10; ROM 1:18-32; 1Tim 1:9-10.

God does not allow homosexual sex. The loving relationship between same sex couples is not addressed in the Bible. So it is the sex that is prohibited and will condemn one.

There is nothing hateful or bigoted about wanting to lead people to the truth. Those are just buzzwords used by those who support or are involved in the homesexual lifestyle in an attempt to incite anger in those who oppose it.

Some of the nicest, most loving people I have known have been homosexuals. I do not hate anyone. But I cannot condone homosexual sex because my God opposes it.

Actually...the person I quoted (was it you?) mentioned verses outside of Leviticus. I was not contradicting the claim that God does not allow homosexual sex, I was just stating that Leviticus applies only to Israelites.

And to NHI: I did not say that law does not apply to Gentiles, nor did I say that we are free to sin as much as we want simply because we have been saved by grace. I was simply stating that those particular laws do not apply to Gentiles. Many of them are re-stated in the New Testament, indicating that we do need to follow them, but others are not restated or are even eliminated (kosher food laws, for example).
