Salvation

I would like to offer people an opportunity to write up what they believe salvation is about, how one goes about being saved, and what that salvation entails, also please state the basis of the salvation, if it is partially based on our being able to "stay saved" say so . this is a fellowship thread so saying bad things about people is not allowed .

I think until we know where we stand on this .. it's going to be hard to move forward as a fellowship of spirit filled people .

All are welcome to post their gospel, if it falls under the unorthodox definition according to Christian Forums it cannot be posted. . . well it can but if a mod notices you might get in trouble . just so you know i don't have some secret authority to say it's okay to break rules randomly . so just posting this paragraph to be considerate.

From this one short passage we can learn a lot about salvation:

It is not from ourselves

It is not by works

It is the gift of God

It involves faith

It is a past event

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV)

Notice the "if ye keep in memoery" part. There are conditions of abiding (remaining, continuing) in faith,
