  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Exodus 15:2 (KJV) The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

Isaiah 12:2 (KJV) Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

1 Chronicles 16:23-25 (KJV) 23 Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation. 24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations. 25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

I love the way we are to stand still and see that He is with us, our salvation.

2 Chronicles 20:17 (KJV) Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

The Psalms are full of David's declaration of joy in salvation. Psalms 35:9 (KJV) And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

Psalms 132:16 (KJV) I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

Isaiah 12:2 (KJV) Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Isaiah 59:16-17 (KJV) 16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. 17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.

Christ is the knowledge of salvation!

Luke 1:74-79 (KJV) 74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77 To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

He opens our eyes to the goodness that is God, the love that is God. May we savor His observable presence, and give good report of that.

Peter declares his salvation with holy boldness! Acts 4:12 (KJV) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 28:28 (KJV) Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

Philippians 1:16-21 (KJV) 16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. 19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, 20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

By God's grace, we are given salvation, and ordered to share that hope that is in salvation. Titus 2:11 (KJV) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Even the angels minister to the security of our salvation. Hebrews 1:14 (KJV) Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

We must guard against neglecting the knowledge of salvation. Hebrews 2:3 (KJV) How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Thanks, that will help in my study. I am finding interesting things regaurding salvation. For the most part it seems that we have recived the end of our faith which is salvation. But we have done so by faith. In other words, we are saved already...by the faith we have in Gods work on us. But we must keep that faith, else we lose the salvation by not continueing.

Because we have not yet attained the imortality promised, but are still having to walk in faith of the unseen. Our salvation is final through faith, but if we turn our back on that faith then it becomes null because we did not believe.

Ok I said lots of confusing things. I am still in the study so I have lots runing through my mind.

I think the best one for me is the verse:

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Saved by hope, but if we were already saved we would not have hope to be saved. There is a verse saying Saved by faith and another saying faith is the substance of things hoped for.

Thus far I have seen that God saves those who continues in the faith. Those who do not will not be saved. I think it is a bad idea to coin the phrase "once saved always saved" Because of the fact that the work is done to save you, but you can't be saved in the first place unless you continue...

Ok bible flash (in other words I just had something come to me). The reason God said in romans He predestined people to be saved was because He knew who would continue, so then God knows who is saved, but we have to watch to see who continues to know.

Another confusing post brought by looksgood.

Don't think I am being blasphemous...I just have a hard time spiting out what I am thinking. I believe that if you are realy saved then you WILL continue...thus "once saved always saved"...But I believe too that if you do not keep the faith, you will lose the reward you could have had if you continued.

Titus 2:10-14 (KJV) 10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. 11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

People lie down and do not rise again. Until the heavens are no more, they will not wake up nor be roused from their sleep...If mortals die, can they live again? This thought would give me hope, and through my struggle I would eagerly wait for release. You would call and I would answer, and you would yearn for me, your handiwork. Job 14:12 and 14-15

But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and that he will stand upon the earth at last. And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! I will see him for myself. Yes I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought! Job 19:25-27

I like Job, for in this book it discusses a trial. One Job longed for. And we know from scriptures the only trial between God and man it upon judgment day :)And just as it is destined that each person dies only once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ died only once as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again but not to deal with our sins again. This time he will bring salvation to all those who are eagerly waiting for him. Hebrews 9:27-28).

Job both feared judgment and longed for it. For he knew no matter how righteous he was, still in God's eyes, he is a sinner. Job said this: God is not a mortal like me, so I cannot argue with him or take him to trial. If only there were a mediator who could bring us together, but there is none. The mediator could make God stop beating me, and I would no longer live in terror of his punishment. Then I could speak to him without fear, but I cannot do that in my own strength. 9:32-35

We are told this by Paul from the Lord: "My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness."

Jesus is salvation (which from my understanding is what his name meant: Joshua- the Lord is Salvation). Now from the Psalmist:

I wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. 62:5-7

God Bless

Salvation is here, and it lives in me! By God's grace, for He alone gave me the faith to believe!

And He wants you to believe as well, for He doesn't want anyone to perish! I believe that He wants everyone to have the opportunity to come to Him, so we must spread the Good News to the ends of the earth!
