I post the following here because I believe it is a Dispensational Issue. I say that from my Mid-Acts Grace Believing Perspective...
Salvation maintenance appeals to the flesh's endless sense of needing to do something that by said doing it might somehow succeed in covering up its sense of nakedness and by that at last feel at peace with itself, Gen. 3:7.
In reality, this is nothing more than the fleshly mind's own belief that by said maintenance it will attain peace with God. The flesh, conformed to this world, rather than the mind renewed by the fact that one has been accepted in the Beloved. Rom. 12:2; Eph. 1:6.
Colssian's 2:
20. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21. [Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22. Which all are to perish with the using;] after the commandments and doctrines of men?
23. Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
