Once long ago I made some posts about checking our salvation. And recent days here have brought this to mind again. I am sickened by how quickly Born again Christians, who have no roots, accept a fox into the Hen House, because they are so shallow they cannot see what they are looking at.
I, believe that it is high time for those of us who call ourselves Christians to get off our comfy little duff and do some serious spiritual growing.
For one thing we need to get our language right. I have been told lately about how much words hurt and believe me I know. I have been ripped apart, and it is very painful. I have been judged by people who do not know me and do not necessarily understand what they are saying.
Here, in the first "salvation check" I will post , is a very good example of that.
Have you enjoyed Spiritual Fellowship with God, and with Jesus our Saviour, and other Christians. The key word here is "Spiritual". This is not the kind of Fellowship as defined for the Fellowship Forum, which means simply gathering together. No Spiritual fellowship goes far deeper than that and entails a mutual association and intimate communion. This is in effect a form of union and becoming one with another. That is why we are told in Eph. 5:11: "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."
"We want you to be with us in this - in this fellowship with the Father, and Jesus Christ his Son. We must write and tell you about it, because the more that fellowship extends the greater the joy it brings to us who are already in it." I John 1:3,4 JBP
So have we had this fellowship with Jesus? Have we had this love and fellowship with one another? If not there could be something wrong!
