That is extremely sad, and extremely close to home for me personally, given how much time I spend out on the streets and in the pubs with the papers.
Mercifully, apart from a little verbal abuse here and there, I have never had any probelms whilst collecting, but goes to show the need for vigilence

Part of my reading at the moment is paul talking about some of the stuff he had to face in service of Christ Jesus. It has always been the case that Christians face this kind of thing in their walk with God.
Can I turn this round though please, because I'm sure the guy who was attacked has done so already, and ask that we ALL pray long and hard for the guy who stabbed him?
This man is a child of God too. Lets pray that, in some way, this incident is the thing that brings HIM to Christ. The is a precedent here, and it's Paul again. Prior to meeting with God en route to Damascus, he had ben instrumentsal in causing a great deal of suffering to Christians.
So lets pray that this guy also has an experience like that. Lets pray him into the kingdom

Maybe a desperate drug addict? I'm glad to hear the Salvation Army friend was not seriously hurt in the attack. The end times folks.
