Hello all, another Christian and lifetime academic here. I've spent most of my life writing researching theology, history, and philosophy, and couldn't have been blessed more in my profession. I certainly hope I can find an amicable and salubrious atmosphere here, and expect to.

Here's my favorite piece of music:

I guess you may be keen to know of my background, given the ambiguity of my having selected "Christian". Well, I happen to be a member of the Freewill Baptist Association.

If I may presume to share something of a testimony as well, I'd like to say that part of why I shared Bach's Mass in B minor is that, beginning at 1:02:33 in the music there are three parts that together culminated in my first discernible experience with the Holy Spirit, and hence my conversion: et incarnatus est, crucifixus, and et resurrexit.

As I had listened to this part of the Mass all these years ago, I finally had the exquisite pleasure of meeting God. It was the most arresting experience I've ever had. I cannot define it as an intellectual or emotional experience, there is no fitting analogy for it and as I had it I said to myself: hoc expertus sum animam meam? I.e. "am I now experiencing my soul"? It made me weep profusely like an infant and I couldn't even control my breathing for a minute there.

Why? It is because of what the Lord in the Incarnation and Atonement impressed upon me, and the joy of Jesus' reward in the Resurrection was so overwhelming that I could hardly stand it. He was resurrected on the third day! He sits on the right hand of the Father! His Kingdom will last forever and ever! Amen.

Edit:

If you need help with something, let me know.

What the heck are blessings? I couldn't find anything on it in the FAQ or anywhere else while perusing the help section to find an answer.

Enjoying your posts. BTW my experience, which is probably less than your at CF is that it is more sebaceous than sagacious or salubrious. Nevertheless, these are potential converts (prospects) out here, although often I feel like," Yukon Cornelius," out here,..."nothing, absolutely nothing."
