I don't care all that much for rap either, but I thin her name can still be relevant with Christians. Remember Jesus talking about a city on a hill, then salt? How it shouldn't loose it's saltiness! She could have started out as a Christian and wouldn't have chosen a better name!

I haven't read it all, but her testimony is pretty Good. I think she became a Christian in 02 after a mission trip. She is currently a practicing Seventh-Day Adventist Christian.

What is a seventh day adventist?

In a word, seventh day adventists are Christians. All we are is another denomination of Christians. We have things in common with some Churches, then we also have other doctrines on other issues. Like some Christian churches like Seventh-Day Baptists and other churches, including some non-denominational churches, we believe that Saturday is the sabbath of the fourth commandment, rather than Sunday. We also believe that in the second coming, or advent, of Christ... we chose not to believe the rapture but in a visable and audible second coming. Another view we differ on is the state of the dead, or what happens after someone dies. All in all, we are Christians who chose to believe the Bible and only the Bible, that offends some people who chose to sometimes put us in the group with other odd churches. I am a Christian!

yea, even though I grew up in church, the state of the dead confused me. But really it is pretty simple if you go at it with an open mind and God's leading, it eventually makes more sense. I am more relieved that loved ones aren't burning right now and nowing they're just "sleeping" as Jesus puts it! Hey, I'll pm you some more complete Bible-based info (for me, it has to be Bible based!) so I won't stay off topic here... it is pretty interesting to study this topic.

Hey also check out www.bibleuniverse.com they have SO MANY resources there, I was amazed when I found it! Hepls when studying the Bible, their answers seem to be Biblical and make sense too!

Some people say that we don't believe in salvation by faith, some say we don't believe the holy spirit, some even say we don't believe Jesus! We're not like that! :)

We believe the Bible, so we believe in salvation by faith through Jesus Christ.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begooten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life!" John 3:16

It is through Jesus Christ that we recieve salvation, not what we do, not what we say! It is through believing and living out these beliefs!

we who have put our faith in Christ will live eternally in heaven?

Note again the best loved verse, John 3:16...

...whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life!"

Yes! We believe the Bible, and eternal life is granted to those who believe in Jesus.

and do you abstain from the unclean foods in the old testament?

Now you have a touchy topic. Do we as adventists abstain from unclean foods? Yes. It might sound weird because there are so many views on this topic... but the Bible can be pretty clear that this wasn't supposed to be a confused issue! One thing people get messed up on is that this was a part of the ceremonial laws that were nailed to the cross. To find the answer, you have to go back to Genesis and read where God first lays out guidelines for what we can eat. Notice Genesis 9: 3-5 points out that we are to eat anything that has blood or fat in it, those must be removed before we can eat any meat, clean or unclean. And this was before there were Jews or Moses was given any law that would later be done away with. We see in Genesis that there were stipulations on clean and unclean long before Isreal was a nation, these were given after the flood to Gods people. See Genesis 8:20, where it points out there was a difference between clean and unclean before Isreal. Noah actually had clean and unclean animals on the ark, but seven pairs of clean and one pair of each unclean animal! There were stipulations on this. See Leviticus 111 for a complete list of what is clean and unclean by God's standards. Another misconception is that God points out in the New Testemant that we can eat anything. While there are certain texts that talk about different clean and unclean foods, Paul was using these as metephors for different pints depending on the text (it soudns crazy, but if you look at it clearly, most Christians agree on this). Also their is the dream of the sheet coming down out of heaven, this wans't telling him that everything was now clean to eat, Peter was being shown that the gentiles (symbolized by unclean foods) were to recieve God's message as well as the Jews, in fact, that is very clear if you read that passage, people do pull the vision out of context.

I Pray that helps you understand our beliefs, that is what we believe, and if you have any more questions I am more than happy to answer them... go ahead and pm them to me so we don't more off topic here :) !!!!!!!!

Sorry if id did!

um ok cool. So whats da difference betwen Seven day adventist and Non-denominational people.

I like rap and r&b btw
Well, that question splits from the OP a little but I can give my input. Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) are a denomination within the Christian church, so that is the biggest difference. Non-denom's can have a large variety of beliefs so there is no easy way to compare. I would guess that there are probably some non-denom churches that believe in the things that SDA do (Satuday worship instead of Sunday, soul sleep, etc.) but have split from the denomination over other differences.

Sorry! I Have been the busiest dude on earth! Yea it really depends on what non-denominational church. Some non-dedom. don't claim any particular belief while others break from other churches and claim very specific beliefs. We do have doctrines that we share with a variety of other denominations and churches.
