Salad to go with pasta carbonara

a mix of leaf lettuce and romaine, some slivers of carrots, some red onion chopped, red grapes cut in half. an ok red wine vinager and a good extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper
it is good and simple and quick

Hey everybody. The dinner was a great succes. I bought some 'rustic' rosemary bread at the supermarket. Nice and heavy with a crispy crust. Then set out some olive oil for dipping and some olive tapenade.

The side salad ended up being romain leaves, vine ripened tomatoes (oh, they are SOOOO good) and a few slivers of orange bell pepper with Italian light dressing and a salad toppings that had a mixture of pine nuts, sunflower seeds, herbs and croutons. (I got lots of compliments on the salad). We had a nice pasta carbonara as a main course, which worked out well, with some strewn parmegan.

Our guests had brought along homemade brownies which we ate while playing trivial persuit. (mmmmmm) and I served some William Sonoma hot chocolate with those.


We had lots of fun talking and making fun and are planning on repeating the event frequently. Yay!!
