has anyone hear ever heard of or watched Gensoumaden Saiyuki?

it means Journey to the West and it centers on four characters: Sanzo (a corrupt gun-totting monk), Gojyo (a half-human, half-kappa), Goku (i think he was born under a rock and he's really strong... i can't really remember the series, it was a long time ago), Hakkai (i can't remember him much either)

I've seen the first few episodes of it, but my friend loves it.

It was alright, not a show for kids. There were some funny and cool parts in it, but it didn't really blow me away or anything.

I did like the concept though, basing it on Journey to the West.

This is...my very favorite anime and is the one that got me into anime in the first place ^^;

Yeah...it really isn't for kids...cuz of violence, language, and touchy (heart wrenching and sad~!) topics. I just think it's so nicely woven together...awesome characters...yah really interesting stuff

Goku is my fav, he's just too cute~!!

Saiyuki! *spazzes* There is a lot I don't agree with in Saiyuki, but I love it anyway. The manga is of course better, but the anime's fun to watch and critique. My favorite characters are Sanzo and Goku. I really like Sanzo because of he's so much deeper than people think. Sure he acts like a jerk, but you know deep down inside he really cares about Goku and the others. It's just interesting watching him try to hide it from them, and them knowing it the entire time. And goku, well, Goku's just really caring and sweet. Plus, I love his relationship with Sanzo. Very touching.

Goku can also become Seiten-Taisei-SonGoku, an almost unstoppable killing machine. Only one other person (besides the gods, who hardly interfere anyway) can 'subdue' him.

I've read the original, manga 1-3 of Reload, and Gaiden
I've seen saiyuki series 1 and 2, Reload, and ep. one of gunlock.

I've only seen series 1 and 2... I didn't even know there was a manga or a movie for that...

Movie . Actually, I don't recall mentioning a movie, though there is a movie as well. It's called Requiem. there's an OAV too, but it's nearly impossible to find and it's not that good, I've heard.

I know, but a friend of mine mentioned that there was a movie. Anyway, I've seen the DVD for Requiem and it's pretty expensive at $40ish...

Forty dollars!? Where do you guys get your anime from? I only paid $20 for mine. Requiem is good, but don't buy it for forty bucks. You can find it somewhere else for cheaper.
