I like em.I believe that Jesus came to set us free from the Levitical laws and ordinances-all the things that were so very hard for them to keep in those days. But if Jesus set us free from keeping the Sabbath, then it must mean that it is also Ok to lie, murder, steal, and break the other 9 commandments etc. And we know that is not true! There is nowhere in the Bible that says Jesus told us to stop observing the Sabbath, unless I've just missed it. He says to keep His commandments, and He doesn't say to just keep 9 and not all 10.
I don't go to a 7th day church, because I have heard that they base their salvation on the works of keeping the Sabbath. I think that the whole term "Sabbath" means to REST on that day-not necessarily go to church, because the Bible shows us that the disciples also worshipped on "the Lord's Day" which is Sunday, the 1st day of the week.
I keep the Sabbath, but I don't get all legalistic about it- I don't work on Saturdays-I rest and spend that time with God as much as possible. I go to church on Sundays though, and any other time they are having services. I certainly don't base my salvation on whether I go to church on Saturday or Sunday though-I base it on the fact that Jesus died for my sins!
Nope the Lord's day isn't the sabbath. It is never called the sabbath in the Bible.The Lord's Day is not what the church thinks it is, it is what God declares it is.

If one reads enough they will find that all of the above references are directed to the COI and not the Church. We have a different covenant in which the 7th day sabbath isn't part of by commandment (requirement).Exodus 12:1--51; Exodus 23: 10-33; Leviticus 16:1-34; and Leviticus 23:1-44. In these Scriptures when you read and study them you will realize that the Lord separated these feast and ceremonials sabbaths from the Sabbath day of the Ten Commandments- that's why it made sense when Paul talked that he was afraid of the people observing months, days, times and years and that the Gentiles didn't have to worry about meat offering, drink offering, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon(month) or the Sabbath days.
These feasts and ceremonies required a certain day during a certain month, and certain years during certain years to be like a Sabbath day or year unto the people of Israel and the Lord, but none of them was the Sabbath day, because each came upon a different day during the week which was different from the Sabbath day.
The Sabbath day was not a shadow of things to come but the ceremonial and feast sabbaths were a shadow of things to come.
Big difference between the 10 commandments of God and the other laws and ordinances such as animal sacrifices, etc. that WERE done away with when Christ was crucified.
I'm wondering what the above has to do with the sabbath and general discussion of what one should do in respect of living the Christian life?The feast days of Lev 23 are so prophectic, we can see them being fulfilled after the 3 1/2 year of Yeshua's ministry with the first four feasts being fulfilled.. and we can expect to see the fall feasts being fulfilled during the second coming events of end times too.
It was the whole jewish calendar. Not for the church. Besides, the law was one, we can't select what we want. Josh 1:8, James 2:10, Gal 5:3, Gal 3:10, Lev 26:15.

Ok, but where in the Bible does it say that the 4th commandment was done away with? Doesn't Matthew 5:18 say that not one jot or tittle will be done away with until Heaven and earth passes away? And if the New Covenant means that we are not to keep any of the 10 commandments, then where does it say that murder, lying, adultery, etc. are Ok?

Moses' law was the temporary, ceremonial law of the Old Testament. It regulated the priesthood, sacrifices, rituals, meat and drink offerings, etc., all of which foreshadowed the cross. This law was added "till the seed should come," and that seed was Christ (Galatians 3:16, 19). The ritual and ceremony of Moses' law pointed forward to Christ's sacrifice. When He died, this law came to an end, but not the Ten Commandments
(God's law) "stand fast for ever and ever." Psalm 111:7,8.

There is no difference between the 10 Cs and the law of Moses being the law. Both came directly from God and are the law. The Jews spoke this way of the Torah (Law), Jesus spoke this way of the law, Paul spoke this way of the law and so did James. The law is a single undivisible unit. How about Hosea 2:11 I like it even better for this purpose - I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
Have you ever read LK 24:44? And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.
This doesn't cover end time prophecy as some insist. So when you ask questions concerning what I have said here I'll be delighted to help you out. What you have done is avoid what I said - really changed the subject. Normally this means there are no questions about what I said or inlight thereof one can't defend their position. Take your pick please.
