The church would do more good if it accepted that it was a social club.

I am definitely not part of a social club since I get (almost) no socialization from it.

I always cringe at the implication that those who can read Koine Greek have greater insight into the mind of the Creator. In fact, knowledge of Koine Greek only ensures that we get a better of understanding of what the writers of the bible believed. We still have to determine whether their beliefs were correct.

We don't have to do that at all. They are included in Scripture by those who first read them. God only expects us to live up to the light we know at this time. He doesn't expect us to determine the undeterminable.

If you want to hand over your brain to those who "included [them] in Scripture" you are free to do so. I choose to use mine independently. As far as what is undeterminable I think I am well qualified to make that determination but you are free to be bound by the opinions of others.
