Sabbath = JESUS

Mark 2:27..."The Sabbath day was made to help people; they were not made to be ruled by the Sabbath day.
28 So then, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath day."

As many of you know, my parents are Seventh-day Adventists. i was raised keeping the seventh day (Saturday - look at your calandar) as a special day to GOD. (the sabbath with many rules as to what we couldn't do on that day)

As a teen ager i rebelled and became a Baptist, and accepted Pauls teaching that whatever day one chooses can be their sabbath.

as a young adult i became a Catholic. Catholics teach that JESUS gave them the keys and that gave them the right to change the sabbath from Sat. to Sunday. (this is one Catholic teaching i do not agree with) so i have continued to half hardily keep Sat. as the sabbath.

as a part of my prayerful Bible study with a dear sister i have come to realize that JESUS is my sabbath and i can and should rest in HIM constantly. So now when i read about the sabbath i think of constant rest in JESUS

Both systems are wrong. Neither is there a Sabbath to be kept nor has its day been changed. God never instituted such a thing for the Church, so any that do make such changes, you know they are false.

We should never Judaize Christianity by concocting a Christian Sabbath. There is no Christian Sabbath. The Sabbath was a special day of covenant for Israel with God to be kept. This covenant was for Israel alone for being under the law.

Christians are not under the law but the spirit of law for Jesus came to fill up the law, not to abolish it. This means even the Sabbath must be seen correctly. The law does not pass away until the millennial kingdom begins and then finishes.

Since Israel has forsaken their covenant with God, the new covenant has been passed to Israel beforehand, before Israel receives theirs to be the center of all nations. Those that return with Christ to reign will reign as kings and priests, but Israel will only facilitated the role of being the center of all nations from which Christ will reign from the holy place, that is, the Temple, Jerusalem and Judea. The Sabbath was just for Israel. So the Lord's Day on Sunday is a whole new and unrelated day for the resurrection of Christ.

You see people try to puff themselves up by some special teaching in their petty self. May this help you.
